2 Timothy 3:16 "all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"

To which scripture did Paul refer, considering he was writing letters to groups of people and the gospels had not yet been written? These were not deemed scripture until the 4th century by the church.

I wonder, if someone today wrote a book and said it was the next chapter in the bible, and was inspired by god, would they be taken seriously?

When Paul wrote to Timothy, he was referring to the Old Testament. If you'll notice as you read the New Testament, many of the authors quoted verses from the OlD Testament. Even when Jesus was being tempted in the wilderness by Satan, He used the Old Testament scriptures to answer him.

The word:Main Entry: scrip·ture
Function: noun
Pronunciation: 'skrip(t)-sh&r
Etymology: Middle English, from Late Latin scriptura, from Latin, act or product of writing, from scriptus
1 a (1) capitalized : the books of the Bible -- often used in plural (2) often capitalized : a passage from the Bible b : a body of writings considered sacred or authoritative
2 : something written

i beg to variety. in case you talk of "custom based on the primitive church", then it begs to ask the question: shouldn't there have been greater advantageous epistles and/or gospels written by potential of potential of the somewhat witnesses themselves --i.e., the Apostles James, the Righteous; Peter; Thomas; Philip; and so on.-- somewhat than in many circumstances Paul's letters that are singlehandedly coated interior the Bible as all of us comprehend it now? Why is that so? And basically precisely whilst did the Marian devotion come to the fore if now not after the 10th century basically? replaced into that element of custom by potential of potential of the primitive church too? yet it has taken an important, if now not, even a basic place between the laity on the instant who say the rosary plenty in many circumstances. and that's an important element of the church's traditions that the protestations began 5 centuries in the previous... the present discovery of the ineffective Sea Scrolls has extra plenty greater advantageous controversy, albeit quelled from public scrutiny, as to a pair of its contents that contradict with scriptural texts discovered interior the Bible. Curious minds could desire to get exhilaration from... Peace be with you.

Paul knew that inspiration could come from the devil too because he was/ is an example of it. He persecuted the doctrine of the Messiah and even though he said he changed, the only thing was changed was him taking this doctrince to the heathens who Yashua constantly told his disciples not to go to. Paul denied the law of the scriptures and admits to being a liar in Rom-3:7.

A liar has no memory and his so-called meeting Yashua at the roadside in the book of Acts supports him being a liar. He contradicts himself 3 times for the same story. Act 9, 22 & 26. (email me if u can't find it).

Peace.

The New Testament was only partly written and had not be compiled, Paul was clearly referring to the 39 books of Old Testament. Unknown to Paul at that time, many of his letters were also inspired and were to be part of the holy cannon of 66 books.

I believe all. He would have known about the Old Testament, as well as the other letters that were written.

Stop it.

You'll make their heads hurt.

Or you'll make them resort to idiotic non-linear time scenarios.
