what is a clone account?

Generally, it's someone who creates an account and mimics the traits (name, avatar, etc.) of a regular contributor for the sake of making that person look bad.

A clone is a copy of someone else's account.
For example, fireball226 gets cloned a lot. She's a level 7 account, but others create accounts that use the fireball226 name to make fun of her or make people think it is her.

There's one here. IMACATHOLIC2. The original is level 7 and has tons of correct answers and the clone is only a few weeks old and have few correct answers.

In another section I answered a question from a clone and the original wrote me and told me what I had done.

How, exactly, IMACATHOLIC2 got to use that exact name, I'm not sure. A flaw in the system someone has discovered. A bug, that allows two monikers to exist at the same time.

After getting deleted by the all powerful Yamsters, people make clone accounts so they can come back to R+S and flame some more.

It is when someone steals your Identity and and make an account similar to yours. Most people know the real thing if they are in your buddy list.
