"Jehovah" is the English translation of the Hebrew Tetragrammaton; the Tetragrammaton is the universal term for the four Hebrew letters which represent the Divine Name of Almighty God in its nearly seven thousand instances in the bible.
The books of Psalms and Daniel apply the term "the Most High" to Jehovah God dozens of times, and even Luke chapter 1 three times applies the term plainly to God (the Father of Jesus).
(Luke 1:31-32) You are to call his name Jesus. This one will be great and will be called Son of the Most High; and Jehovah God will give him the throne of David his father [this alludes to Psalm 132:11; Isaiah 9:7; and Jeremiah 23:5, all of which explicitly use the Tetragrammaton]
(Luke 1:76) As for you, young child [Jesus], you will be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go in advance before Jehovah to make his ways ready [which alludes to Isaiah 40:3, which explicitly uses the Tetragrammaton]

The name of the Most High in our language is YHWH. The vowels are no longer known.
Yahweh and Jehovah are most often used as God's name in English. Both are accepted but they are both stand-ins for his actual name. There's a chance that Yahweh could be the original, but it's only a guess. "Jehovah" is a Latin influenced name mistakenly coined by some well-meaning but misinformed translator. Nevertheless, it works. So does Yahweh.
Just the facts.

It is the name Jesus used to call his father.
It is the English version of the tetragramiton.
We of the English language use this name to call on The Almighty, Most High God, Sovereign of the Universe.**
