We have no "proof" the Bible is accurate. In fact, ALL scientific evidence points to a stark contrary. The Bible was written by people, and there are countless times in human history where people have been proven wrong. Carbon dating can place the existence of the Earth to within thousands of years of an age around 4.57 billion years. As opposed to eight days. Call me jaded, but I would need a very impressive answer from a creationist.

By the way, the "Doubting Thomas" story is a very clever way to tell people who dare doubt the Bible and actually think for themselves that they're going to Hell. Well, that's a neat trick.

Isn't religion just primitive literature and teachings handed down from generation to generation anyway?

Jesus never built a church. He never spoke to his congregation in a church. When He went to the Temple, it wound up as fight between Him and the priests and the money changers. He gathered His flock outside or in friend's homes. Isn't it strange that so many buildings have been built in His name? Even His dad only asked for a tent.

I notice alot of people point out the actions of a christian and say they turn me off of christianity. I have always considered myself a sinner who was lucky enough to find Christ and recieve his grace. I still screw up all the time. So I was curious what a non-christian thinks the actions of a christian should be. Do you think a christian should be an everyday person who you might see at a bar, or at a concert, or at a ballgame talking and loving people but will still make mistakes and screw up and look bad; or do you think a christian should be someone who never puts himself in an area where he could fall and he stands out in a crowd and he speaks elegantly and peacefully.
I am just curious of your opinions, theres no hidden agenda behind my question.
Do you see the first person as a hypocrite or genuine. Do you see the second person as a true christian or as someone hiding behind a false front who doesn't relate to real life?

In my life I've seen a lot of atheist that have a golden heart. They volunteer in humanity project, involve in children foundation, etc. They're atheist but they're on the path of God.

In my life I also see a lot of peoples who claim that they're religious believers, but they spent so much time and energy to do bad things. They're religious believers, but they're NOT on the path of God.

It's always make me believe that religions is human made. God only create the whole universe. I have this idea that best religion ever is 'HUMANITY'. Do you agree with me ?

PS : I'm not an atheist, I believe in God.

I can see in myself that I brought over my abilities in art. My daughter is superbly accurate with a bow and arrow- no practice what so ever in this life time. I get a very intense feeling of awe when I drive on a road that has shading patterns from trees. The cascading shadows turning from filtered light back to shade is very moving to me. Then, during a meditative moment I saw in my minds eye being surrounded by reeds filtering sunlight onto an ancient patio with pottery-Egyptian, and a feeling of happiness, almost overwhelming. "Happy Gods, the Gods are happy", I heard this thought coming from within me. Yet, I never believed in this belief, I am monotheistic in my belief here. Has anyone else experienced anything similar, from a sight, an almost familiar odor, a faint and fleeting feeling? And those of you who believe in "The Awakening", do you think such is happening to more people now that the "veil is thinning?"

After years of having them knock at the door and harrass us in the streets, how dare we present them with a bit of reason and logic in a forum that's meant to be open to all to express themselves.

Are they not trying to "bring the lord into our hearts"?

Could it be that they feel like we're winning a few people over to our side?
