Yes.
It goes with the (lack) of understanding of the world around you.
Streams babble, trees sigh in the wind, so there must be spirits inside them. Someone has to be making the seasons change.
Spirits get combined into gods and goddesses. Shamans learn that claiming a connection to the gods gets them power, and become priests.
The more successful clans conquer others, taking their gods with them. They must be the more powerful gods otherwise they would not have won all those battles. (Ignore the ones that they lost)
The pantheons of gods get combined into single gods. The more exclusive ones gain more power on the (misguided) principal behind Pascal's wager (Zeus does not care if I worship Jehovah, but Jehovah cares if I worship Zeus).
Better heavens and worse hells provide a carrot and stick to drive people into support of the 'true' god, just give god your money (hand it to the priests) because god needs your money.

actually early humans had their religion, about the same time they all dwelt in caves, so yes, cavemen had religion.
Every time men brought forth a new religion, it shone like a new car, but you try and keep the same old car for a few thousand years, and so it is with religion, it becomes obsolete after some time, but the Religious institutions hate it when they are told they need to modernize their religion, enough to put people on the stake, or stone them, whatever the custom is.

No. Geico.com is.
But, in all seriousness, of course religion is easy. It's not meant to be complex and elitist. It endures because it offers the concept of salvation to anyone who accepts it, and salvation is not an overtly complex concept to understand.
However, defending religion in the face of those who constantly denigrate its believers is a monumental task, and is reserved for those who are strong enough to tackle the most well-constructed intellectual arguments against faith with fierce wit, acuity and intelligence. That is why the works of people like C.S Lewis and G.K Chesterton have withstood the test of time.

Sure religion is easy because it's not christianity. Religious people know the law. They claim to ' be all that " but inside they are as "dead men's bones." Religious people have God in their head but because they still live like the world ( excessive partying, drinking, fornication, etc. ) Anything goes with a religious person. Therefore the knowledge of God remains in their head alone. It will never transfer to their hearts and transform into true salvation as long as they stay religious and not become His child.

So you belong to a family of cavemen and you want to do the religion thing. Yes, even you, no matter how limited your intellect is, can do it. That's is the beauty of religion even the backward ignorant's can understand it.
God Bless.

Yep. And everyone thinks they've been revealed god's existence through them.
Actually it would mount to innumerable omnipotent deities had they all been true.
Hmmm, no wonder why they're good stuff to control the masses.

If the Bible were just another book, then it would have just faded away with time and only a foot note in history, the fact that it has a great impact today prooves that it is not just "another book"
You do not see other books except the Koran, and even it is not as wide spread as the bible, gain such status.
And stop plagerizing Gieco
