The reformation in islam is already underway . Most young educated muslims are questioning islam . i can say that 50 years from now islam will be just like any other religion . it will be secular and will never be a threat to anyone.

educated muslims are now asking this from the imams?

why do you expect intelligent young people such as us to believe in outdated superstition?

comments?

I have absolutely nothing against muslims at all.

I've lived in Iraq and Egypt and they have been nothing but friendly to me.

Its the yanks that annoy me!

Interesting persepective on the Muslim faith . Although I agree and to a certain point understand where you are coming from . I feel that the Muslim faith (from experience) Is more a way of life as opposed to simply a faith / religion . Many of my friends are Muslim and express a deep belief in the Kpran and abide by its teachings to rule their lives .
Christians and other such religions are in my opinion are not a way of life but more a blind faith and something to hold on to in times that are trying and also a place to go and socialise with other like minded people. I do find youre question interesting though . And hope that one day (as an atheist ) that all religions will be taken for what they are and that is a faith and not to take it so seriously... all the best to you ..and good wished with youre choices .

Excuse me...Islam is not an outdated Superstition ike you claimed.....if you bother to use 5%of your brain juices you wil realised that Islam is actually a very advanced and thoughtful religion...its book (Quran) is a Poetry...

Can I asked you...which University do u attended and how well you used your brain..If you do used your brain to think and analysed you will know how and what is Islam.

I am so sorry for you...you have failed and God has not shown you the light!!!!

Be sorry...I mean it!

And for the young generation of Islam, I do encourage them to questions...study the verses..translate them into a new light and meaning...do not follow blindly . Question if you must over and over again!!!!

And do not confused it with culture!!!

what reformation ?

a qoute comes to mind reading your question

when u wait for everything to be perfect before u begin, you will never make a start

islam does not need a reformation, those who are against islam will probably remain that way and those who are for it, including non muslims will ways respect our religion for what it stands for: PEACE.

jihad doesnt mean to die, it means to stay alive and fight for whats right,

the educated muslims should already be able to differentiate between culture and islam

sister dont wait for a revolution to happen but dont give anyone any false hopes either, the time is now to act, islam is and will always be a pure and peaceful religion, the best u can do is to preach what u practice

Muslims brag about their religion never changing. That means that their minds are bogged down in the pre-medieval days. In other religions, the basic beliefs remain, but all other aspects of life keep up with modern inventions, dress, ways of doing things, etc.
This in no way dilutes that real religious background. The Muslims reason that Mohammad wore a turban and beard, therefore all men should wear turbans and beards. But when comfort enters the picture, what Mohammad did has no bearing of what is approved now. Mohammad never rode in an air-conditioned limousine, and he never lived in an air-conditioned mansion.
So, you have to wonder about the line of reasoning used by the imams. Women should realize that Islam was dreamed up by men, for the benefit of men. While they support that idea, it will never change. The Imams will never voluntarily give up any of the goodies that they enjoy. It's up to the women to band together, to fight for, to insist on, equality as practiced throughout all of the modern world.
I don't have too much hope for this to happen. Islamic women don't have that tough fighting spirit necessary to get the job done. Islam is bogged down mentally, and is doing little to change.

I don't' have a problem with Muslims. I know the difference between the crazy fundamentalists and the ones who are educated. I have several friends who are Muslim and all they want to do in this country is live their life just like Americans do. The unfortunate thing for you is that your put in the same category as the ones who want to harm the U.S. I hope that one day we will all be able to live in harmony.

We Have heard all that before. If Muslims wish to worship a God then that is fine, but start by recognizing that belief in Mohamed is not central to being a Muslim.

time we have no time to allow people to act like savages. im confident there are alot of brillant people in the middle east, but im saddened to think none of these people have stepped up and led the way. the leaders of the muslim nations have proven themselves to be evil savages, how can they justifiy beheadings? they inflict harm on their own people and claim its in the name of allah. well i hope you're right that this will change in time but there is no time to wait when these savages are blowing themselves up in market places killing innocent bystanders. hopefully you're young educated people will over come and change the way of life sooner rather than later.

To bring it up to par with what....Christian churches? Christianity has it's own small sect of ultra violent imbeciles running around with weapons and compounds and whatnot. That's something that I don't see changing in any religion, region, etc. Ever.
