Christians are up in arms about the ordination of a celibate, gay bishop and yet are silent when it comes to condemning priests who actively abuse choir boys. It is left to secular society to rile against that one.
So is the celibate gay bishop more evil?

Neither. Pedophilia is an ilness whereas homosexuals are born that way. An ilness is usualy treatable but not homosexuality of which is a naturaly occuring variation of sexuality. Perhaps the question should be answered by saying that the people who answered calling gays names and implying that they are evil are worse! Their self rightous,judgemental, homophobic, ignorant , illogical thinking is the real evil.

Well, in essence, the Pedo is worse by a mile.
At worst you can abscond the Bishop for being an out and out (scuse the pun) hypocrit. He is however not harming people, and at the last check, it's not illegal to drop your love stick in the chocolate pool, although it's certainly against everything he stands for.
Whereas paedophilia most definitely is a cause for illegality. The two activities are on completely different levels. Anyone hwo believes gays are equal to pedo's are as sick the pedo's themselves.
I'm sitting here thinking the gay bishop is actually quite laughable, as I can see the irony of it. I'm also thinking that the aforementioned preists should have their eyes burnt out, their hands cut off and genitals removed. Then put on display in jail.
Bit harsh? I don't think so.

In your own question, you show that they are two sides of the same coin! It's not that these priests were pedophiles! It is that they are homosexuals and couldn't/wouldn't control their urges! As to whether the bishop is celibate, it's not a case of celibacy! It's a fact that he is embracing a sinful lifestyle and flaunting it! There are people that will come to believe that homosexuality is not a sin because this churchman in a high place goes against scripture and say that it is OK!
Now, you may say that he has the right to choose whatever lifestyle he so chooses! However, that does not give him the right to deliberately lie to people and tell them that it is OK, spiritually!

If the gay bishop doesn't bother anybody, there isn't anything wrong with him being a bishop, Some priests are actively abusing boys and there is a difference! Give the bishop a chance, but he should also set a good example! Just as long as he doesn't practice his gay ideas! Evil is as evil does!

We are all "more evil." We are all the "worst."
That is the doctrine of Original sin.
We would all be absolutely evil apart from God's grace. God's grace makes the difference.
Proud man thinks so much of himself, how good, how important, how clever, how rich...
Have you never heard the expression, There go I but for God's grace?
Have you never sinned?
Do you presume that you are better than another? That is self righteousness.
What have you that has not been given to you?
It is how you respond to the grace of God that is what really matters. That is what you will be judged on.
You need to judge yourself, not others.
Your judgement is poor when you confuse Christians with Roman Catholics and Anglicans. If you cannot even distinguish between these three groups how can you presume to judgement?

This is a question that is slanted to slight the Catholic Church that does not condone homosexual activity and this question also means to put into a favorable light a Church that condones homosexual activity. Do not be fooled. Homosexual activity AND pedophelia are both sins. There have been less than 4% of the Catholic Clergy involved in the scandels. This number is LESS than the national average of ALL denomination clergy. Baptists are the worst in sexual abuse of any kind.

The pedophile is more evil. That person defiles innocent children. The gay bishop is presumably an adult, and engages in private activities only with other consenting adults.

Pedophile priests are the worst. Sex should always be adult/cons, not with children or forced. Being gay, however, is not wrong at all, nothing wrong with a gay bishop whatsoever.

Those pedophiles committed and often ruined the lives of their youthful victims. Although God can forgive them for that sin even though they blasphemed God from their noble position They should be banned from the priesthood, and (after serving time) given other employment.
As for gay priests: "I hope they don't practice it, or endorse it from the pulpit."
The Bible says not to be deceived, the immoral and effeninate will not inherit the kingdom" (1 Cor. 6:9).

When the bishop here was accused of shielding pedophile priests and keeping their stories secret...it was a HUGE deal.. still is. Not sure where you're from
