In a book that I have full of quotes from the Bible, it says that the only unforgiveable sin is, "And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come" (Matthew 12:30-32).

So my question is......What is speaking against the Holy Ghost? And are there any other unpardonable sins that this book may have gotten wrong?

Mormons seem like decent people to me. Yes I know there is the whole multiple-wives thing and all, but Catholics and Baptists aren't exactly perfect either.

If for your shallow reasons that makes you think the Mormon church is false then keep it to yourself. They don't go around bashing other religions so you should do the same.

Christians, do you believe that Jesus died for everyone's sins, or just those that suck up to him?

The thorns that are your crown
remind me of the grim day
you died....
Why call it good friday
when all I see is your pain
as you take my burden
away from me....
I would gladly take it to save you from that pain
but since you already came and conqured the
death and hell..
I all can give to repay you is my heart.

So what do you think?

Not trying to be petty, but I have read some very mean spirited questions and answers here. Any thoughts?

I've noticed that there are a lot of 'biblical' scholars floating around YA and among the general population, and even though they say they've studied the bible in Greek, Aramic, Hebrew and even Coptic, they always fail to find out how the religion was formed. Simply reading the Tanakh and comparing it to the OT of the bible clearly shows that the bible is a manipulation of the original words and stories, and uses scriptures out of context to identify Jesus as the messiah. If you study something that has such a big impact on your life and the life of others, don't you think you owe it to yourself and the people around you to be semi-thorough about the beliefs you're pushing on them? Why won't Jesus' followers find out if what he says matches what was written? Why won't they look at their religion's history?

If I can not forgive myself for the sins that I have committed, does that then mean that I am not believing that I am forgiven for the sins that I have committed? Or if I do believe that I am forgiven, can I still struggle with forgiving myself? Or do we just have trouble forgiving ourselves even if we believe that we are forgiven?

Can I please make a point to all those arguing against evolution?

There is more proof for evolution than the theory of the heliocentricity of the solar system. Evolution HAS been observed with the creation of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and pesticide resistance. New species of Mosquito have been observed to develop in the London Underground. These are facts. So noone can say that evolution is false today, false in the near-past or false in the future.

From my point of view you may only argue about whether God is directing evolution or not, or if most creatures today, whose evolutionary paths cannot be traced entirely, were created by a god or not. Otherwise you are being ignorant of the realities of the modern world.

Do you agree? Why (not)?

People - creation and evolution are different theories of how the earth and life began here. That a natural science question.

Can we please drop the Monkey Trial debate and talk about spirituality and religion? At least for another hour.............

Like this person:

"You have a nerve bringing that to this
forum. how dare you. Do you realize that this life you live in is no joke. What those kids are doing is no joke. It is actually immature people who don't know any better."

Unfortunately, those who do that Blasphemy challenge are doing something worthy of death.

How sad it
is to see this kind of thing going on in the world, even though it is pure prophecy, so we did actually expect it. Its still sad, though.

The fact that you are now bringing this onto the forum, pretty much seals your fate.
You have to sail your own ship, and yours is heading straight for hell. Bon Voyage, Captain. You are making, literally, the mistake of your life, and every single soul who dies a spiritual death due to your
actions, you will be directly responsible for.

I believe God is helping them get interested in Him. God always is there for you 24/7, and perhaps this is the way a person wants to get closer to God but doesn't know how or how to approach HIm.

i also think that they maybe afraid of what their friends think of them. and maybe a little scared to talk about it to anyone.

remember it is never too late His door is always open to you.
just confess your sins to him and he will forgive you.

have a blessed day
and may God be with you all until the end

Always confess you are sinful, ask God to forgive, and he will always answer your prayers.

It just seems like religion is something you inherit from your parents, where I come from the government labels you according to your believes. Now my parents are Muslims and for some reason I am supposed to be so, and it really annoys me that I have to be labeled according to what my parents believe in, when I drink, I party, my conviction is “live and let live” and I don’t believe in 99% of what Muslims say the rest is the 1% common with every other religion on the planet. The question is do you believe that you’ve inherited ur religion????

My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less

"My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name:
On Christ, the solid rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
O, may I then in Him be found;
Dress'd in His righteousness alone,
I faultless stand before the throne.
On Christ, the solid rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand."
