Not trying to be petty, but I have read some very mean spirited questions and answers here. Any thoughts?

For the same reason the devil hangs around trying to provoke Christians. No power except to harrass others.

Who are you to judge somebody you don't know as unspiritual and unreligious? Just because they don't show it or practice it the same you do doesn't mean that they are unspiritual. *Love* the generalizations. You Christians are full of them, aren't ya? See, I can do it too!

Welcome to the internet.

There are two theories. One is that every fourteen year old in the world is on his mommy's computer ALL the time. The spelling and grammar, or rather lack thereof, that one sees here would certainly tend to support that hypothesis.

The other theory is that there is only ONE other person on the internet. He/she has a maniacally obsessive interest in exactly twelve subjects, a limited attention span, and schizophrenia. This is why one keeps seeing the two (or three, on bad "off meds" days) sides to every argument repeated endlessly.

As for the subtext of your question, that mean spiritedness indicates a lack of either spirituality or religion . . . wow. I guess the "Rapture" crowd's in real trouble, then. I can't imagine anything meaner spirited than gloatingly looking forward to watching every one *else* suffer horribly . . . from a safe distance. o_O

Now, in my folkway, revenge is a sacrament, courage is honored, and sparkling bluntness is to be treasured in one's friends. But then, heathen spirituality is rooted in this life rather than empty promises of a heavenly one.

Because we think it is interesting to see what spiritual and religious people think about things. Plus, we have to stick up for ourselves when people on here say stupid stuff about us. Also, when people ask questions about, say, and Athiest (completely non-spiritual or religious), it usually helps to have an athiest answer.

It's like Tourette's Syndrome, only this is a result of a person's up-bringing.

Some people scream for attention wherever they can get it. Religious people are supposed to be loving people, so these poor souls wander in and scream for attention.

It's either that or they've been wickedly treated wrong by religious people, and this is their revenge.

However, I've seen people claiming to be "christian" do this to the atheists, so whomever these individuals are, they seem to be adaptable and opportunistic.

LOL! Yeah, I hear you. Just like we religious and spiritual people come here to post and answer questions abt our/others' religions, they come here for the same purpose--even if we may not always like their questions/answers. To them, having no religion is a form of religion, I'm sure.

How do you figure mean spirited means unspiritual and unreligious?

Seriously.

The recently deceased Jerry Falwell was undoubtedly religious, and even people who agreed with him can agree he was mean spirited.

Satan has a very large following in this world and many of his followers come here to see how many they can upset...

Oh.. and there is no school today but many people still work, so their parents are away at work while they come here.
