yes, even animals can be gay. it's nature's way of trying to control overpopulation. i've been saying this for a long time and some pro-gay freaks always start accusing me of being a homophobe. uh, no, i'm not saying they need to be killed or anything. just that people have a purpose of reproducing raising their kids and then they die. that is how it's supposed to be. homosexuality is a human defect. but a defect that makes sense.

Obviously some of your respondants have yet to figure out that men don't have wombs ;-)

First, I don't believe in ID. and if I did I'd be a "christian" who would refuse to accept God has any place for homosexuals on the planet.

Fortunately, I am not like that :-)

I think sexuality involves a complex of genes, any one of which, if switched on or off, determines things like gender preference. There is far too much evidence that gene selection for a baby is pretty much random, so anyone could be born gay or straight.

Obviously the odds are more in favour of being straight (there are more straights than gays in any given generation).

One more strike against the premise of your question: the world was not always "over-populated". Homosexuality would have been a problem for an emerging population of proto-humans. When your tribe needs as many members as it can get to have enough fighters to keep the tribe next door from wiping you out, you need every breedable individual breeding more members of the tribe.

I think -that- is the root of male homophobia (note that female homosexuals do not face the same kind of discrimination that males face).

The evidence is overwhelmingly in favor of "Stupid Design" over Intelligent Design. I'm going with "No Design so Just Deal With It."

What plan do you have for the time the world is filled with only homosexuals? No, nothing intelligent about that.

It may be. Research has shown that it the older a woman is when she has a child and the more children she has, the more likely it becomes with each birth that the child will be gay. Good question! - A gay Christian

Design? Gee, i don't know.

But, as homosexuality isn't a choice, i guess you could make the argument...though the bible quoters are going to be all over you for it.

According to the Scripture there is nothing intelligent about the choice of homosexuality.

Rom 1:18 For God's anger from heaven is being uncovered against all the impiety and wickedness of the men who in their wickedness are suppressing the truth;
Rom 1:19 because what can be known of God is clear to their inner moral sense; for in this way God Himself has shown it to them.
Rom 1:20 Forever since the creation of the world, His invisible characteristics -- His eternal power and divine nature -- have been made intelligible and clearly visible by His works. So they are without excuse,
Rom 1:21 because, although they once knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give Him thanks, but became silly in their senseless speculations, and so their insensible hearts have been shrouded in darkness.
Rom 1:22 Though claiming to be wise, they made fools of themselves,
Rom 1:23 and have transformed the splendor of the immortal God into images in the form of mortal man, birds, beasts, and reptiles.
Rom 1:24 So God has given them up to sexual impurity, in the evil trend of their heart's desires, so that they degrade their own bodies with one another,
Rom 1:25 for they had utterly transformed the reality of God into what was unreal, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
Rom 1:26 This is why God has given them up to degrading passions. For their females have exchanged their natural function for one that is unnatural,
Rom 1:27 and males too have forsaken the natural function of females and been consumed by flaming passion for one another, males practicing shameful vice with other males, and continuing to suffer in their persons the inevitable penalty for doing what is improper.

Homosexuality is a choice and has nothing to do with any intelligent design by God. Every person I know has a choice about who they have sex with. Don't blame God for your mistakes.
