You need only two tools - WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape.

First off, being "child-like" is a being thing, not a doing one. I get the feeling that you think you've got to do this thing to be more Spiritual, you don't. You can't try to be this condition, you simply are or aren't. Not everyone has this trait. The expression, however, means being innocent and pure of heart in connection with our Lord and Savior although there are many children walking around on this planet today in general. What I'm saying is spirituality isn't trying to force something, isn't trying to learn something, you can't get it in a book or read it in a magazine or acquire it in a college course. If you're the type that can open his or her heart naturally and let God in, you're more than half way there. It's a natural condition of trust that the Universe will provide for all the needs you can not take care of yourself. It's knowing that there is a power out there greater than yourself and I'm not talking 12 stepping here. There is nothing wrong with you if you're not "child-like." All you need is an sincere and earnest desire to see God. And you will.

A new born child is totally surrendered to his mother. It is the mothers job to find what the child may be crying for. And the job is done to the satisfaction of the child.
As the child grows, the mother does lesser and lesser, until one day when mother stops doing anything, and the child becomes responsible for all that he does.
In meeting the requirements of our soul, we have to behave like a naive child, as we have no knowledge of the spiritual world. The more we do that, the more God will do to us, like a mother to the baby. Today we are doing everything in our spiritual world, driven by our intellect. So God does not need to do anything, like in case of a grown up child.

Spirituality makes a person child-like. Simple like a child. Forgiving like a child. Lack of deception, like a child. Spontaneous like a child. Expressive like a child. One does not have to be child-like to increase spirituality.

If we are child like we are care free. It is the cares and worries of this world that hold us back from being this way. However if we go to God as a Father figure spiritually in prayer He is faithful and Just to relieve us of that and the door is opened. just like a child whom is unable to open the door alone because the door handle is out of reach. When we ask in prayer as a child would ask God's hand moves to open that door for us.

I would say it is very important in fact a requisite. Christ said, 'unless you become like a little child you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.' The kingdom according to Edgar Cayce and my sources is within human hearts, not in the invisible higher realms. When one approaches the universe with an attitude that one already knows things, then they are not open to receiving. On the other hand if one comes to seeking spiritual answers with an innocent, open and trusting nature, saying in effect, "I do not know, please teach me!" with no preconceived ideas. The universal mind of God waits for such ones to approach and ask and in knocking to keep knocking and the door shall be open.

The child-like mind has not succumbed to cynicism and the idea that it already knows everything. It can actually see things without the lenses of conditioning. Spirituality requires a lifting of veils, and the child has fewer veils to lift in order to experience the spiritual realm.

I'm not sure it 'increases' spirituality but there are certainly qualities that children exhibit which I believe make one more open to spiritual insights.
The ability to just go with the flow, to have no expectations, no aims. To play, to take nothing (or everything) seriously. To immerse oneself in the present moment, to allow our imagination to guide us. To see the world through eyes of wonder.
I believe that these are all important qualities for a spiritual 'seeker'.

generally children aren't analytical or judgmental unless they have been taught to be so. They don't judge people by their skin or religious beliefs or anything. they are simple and sweet. At least those who are in a loving sane family. Though now a days many children become messed up from the beginning due to so many problems (parents divorced or abusive etc.) so it depends on the conception of a true child's personality. The main thing is they are sweet and loving and not pretentious and ask a lot of questions sincerely and if it makes sense they accept. They don't calculate. We are childlike in our true spirtual consciousness.

Pure and innocent, you are still that way, not only are you a virgin you are of a virgin birth, The daughter of a barren woman or of a sterile man. Spirituality can not be increased, only be woken up to, everything is perfect. All the true Spiritual teachings are talking about you, what happened, and the way back home. ~ : )

A sense of wonder and a sense of potential come to mind. Their mind seems to be in an accelerated state of growth and learning. (think of how much they learn in the first seven years) A sense of play and spontaneity also come to mind. Emotionally, they express themselves more freely without worrying about how they appear. They forgive more quickly if wronged and they love unconditionally. These are all general statements, but generally speaking they're true (if they're not tampered with). These are also the qualities of a spiritually healthy individual.
