and why do people pretend to base their lives on allegience to their GOD's rules, when they really just do whatever they want most of the time anyway?

Gingrich divorced his sick wife and married another...the Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:9 that adulterers will not inherit the kingdom of God..and the book of Luke tells us that he who divorces and remarries another is committing adultery.

So, Newt Gingrich continues to live in sin each day he is with his new wife...(I believe wife number 3)...the literal interpretation of the Bible says he will not go to heaven. Do you want such an unGodly person in the White House?

Hillary is still with the mate that she made a commitment to before her friends and God. She attends church regularly and professes to be a born again Christian. Granted she may sin, but she doesn't continue to live in sin each day that she awakes as Newt does.

Your thoughts?

My church, like most Catholic churches, has a very strong pro-life stance. Every week we listen to all the ways we can help the pro-life movement..opportunities to donate money, pray for the unborn, etc.

I believe in a woman's right to choose, does that mean I can not be a true Catholic? I am struggling with this a lot.

Did you feel the same way when Mother Teresa passed away??
How will you feel when Billy Graham passes?? Or Pat Robertson??
Is it that they are ALL religious figures, or is it just Jerry Falwell you do not like??

Which Pope do you most admire, and Why?

Doesn't have to be a Roman Catholic Pope, but people with Pope as a surname don't count.

I know many in my circle that likewise would vote for Rudy...most of my friends are social liberals and fiscal conservatives...and Rudy fits that bill...if he can get the Republican nomination, I think he is a shoe in for president.

However, if Newt or Romney, or any other extremely conservative person runs, my circle will have to continue to vote for whoever the Democratic nominee is....and I think then the Republican party will not be able to hold onto the Presidency

-Your thoughts?
-Do you think someone with forward thinking social views, as Rudy has can be nominated by the Republican party...considering the base is fundamentalist Christians? -Would the fundamentalists be willing to support Rudy over conservative like Newt, if it meant they could hold onto the Presidency?
-Or will the fundamentalists insist on a social conservative...even if it means they will lose the election?

If you made a lie stupid enough, someone is bound to believe it.
This is because:
Person A: blah blah blah (says something outrageously stupid)
person B: How can someone invent something that is this unbelievable or absurd?
Person B: It must be true.
Your opinion on this?
Do you think that religion might be a reflexion of this kind of logic?

and John Hagee was talking about the end times....the rapture, the anti-christ and all that and he said that the people who do not follow the anti-christ and wear the mark of the beast, they will cut those peoples heads off and then the Lord and the angels will come down to get the people who had their heads cut off and take them to heaven. The head cutting thing really disturbs me....has anyone heard of this?

"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

How does this prove that the Catholic Church is the one and only true church and that Peter is the first Pope?

Just curious about how you get that out of this verse...

Please -- serious answers from serious Catholics only!

Thanks

I am pregnant and will be having my baby hopefully in the next few weeks. I am having an at home child birth, with my husband as my coach. I really want him to read me scriptures while I'm in labor. How would I go about finding a bunch of scriptures that would fit this purpose? I may go crazy if I try highlighting specific verses in the Bible.... it would all be colored! Thanks in advance for your help.

I am told that unless one turns from their sin, that they will go to hell...he never turned from his obviously, or he would have not been fat.

Please don't tell me this is a medical condition...if you can be born born with a fat gene...you can then be born with a gay gene...and fundamentalists say the gene thing doesn't happen.

Your thoughts...considering he did not take proper care of his "temple of God"...and he died fat, so never turned from his sin...will he go to hell?
