I think that we all need to keep our minds open to new ideas, but we do need to exercise discretion so that we don't become gullible and fall for anything.
I always liked the bumper sticker
"The mind is like a parachute...It only functions when open."

Dude it's not literal, have a sense of humor.
Don't be so open that you lose what you have, the Lord will work with what you have... in your heart/soul... you don't need to change your mind with every other opinion, having an open mind is one thing but some people say here and there they are being bullied, and no one gets bullied that doesn't allow it to happen, I didn't like that comment very much. Having an open heart is much better anyway

I would have to say yes, it would be a good thing to have an open mind. If it were not for open minds, we would still be reading by candle light, riding horse and buggy, and not be sitting here bantering back and forth on Y!A. Think about it!

I believe that depends on what you think we should keep our minds open to. There are some things that can destroy or pervert minds and other things that can improve them. To keep our mind open to everything and anything would be very
foolish indeed.

I guess I have to prove my point to the people who have their thumbs down since their thinking is so small.
I suppose that people like you think it is open minded to go out and rape someone's daughter, or burn someone's house down or get so drunk that you drive down the highway and kill someone or yourself. GET A GRIP ON REALITY. You open your mind to anything and everything, and you will become totally weird and deranged.
