In one of the public speech class I heard that the founder of Mormon Church had prophesied that the south was going to win the civil war, that the blacks would not be freed.
Do you have an idea?

If you woke up from a coma and had no memory of anything whatsover, including religion, and someone came to you and told you the story of Christianity & Jesus Christ, etc would you automatically believe it?

If so, why?

if not, what would it take for you to begin believeing?

As a non believer I have always been curious as to what made you believe to begin with. Was it because you were brought up in a religious home, etc? I just don't understand how you get from non believing to believing.

thank you!

Jerry Falwell was a loving, religious man and said a lot of inspirational things. Here are some:

"If you're not a born-again Christian, you're a failure as a human being."

"AIDS is the wrath of a just God against homosexuals."

"The idea that religion and politics don't mix was invented by the Devil to keep Christians from running their own country."

"I do question the sincerity of people like the Reverend Martin Luther King."

"Labor unions should study and read the Bible instead of asking for more money. When people get right with God, they are better workers."

"I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU... I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen" (regarding the 9/11 attacks).

"Thank God for these gay demonstrators. If I didn't have them, I'd have to invent them. They give me all the publicity I need."

Please think about this seriously.

If you woke up tomorrow and things just weren't right. You turn on the TV and find out that millions of people just disapeared and no one knows what happened to them. What would you think and do? Honestly?

As the tea is poured I see smiles from bright faces, everything is forgotten except what is at hand. Profound it is, this sipping of tea. How could the Zen masters know something we don't. It is everywhere, all at once. *sip* ~ : )

In the argument about creation, the debate on both sides,Believers &atheist;the argument will always&eventually come down to the idea that something/someone always existed. So the contention ends up being Believers say God always existed, while atheist will say science has always existed. And this argument wont end until one side or the other admits to being wrong.

The only reason why i am trying to believe in jesus is because i'm afraid of hell... christians are always saying that i'm going to hell if i don't believe so i am really trying to believe... i just can't help thinking it's a load of crap... but i recently noticed... i am being bullied into it, SURELY god wouldn't approve of it! I can't believe that, i can't help not believing, i don't want to be in denial anymore about it, i just really don't want to go to hell... and please don't answer saying "i'll pray for you" or "open your heart" because it's just not working. I am afraid of god, that he will send me to hell, surely this isn;t right, he is supposed to be perfect and fair.
