Jerry Falwell was a loving, religious man and said a lot of inspirational things. Here are some:

"If you're not a born-again Christian, you're a failure as a human being."

"AIDS is the wrath of a just God against homosexuals."

"The idea that religion and politics don't mix was invented by the Devil to keep Christians from running their own country."

"I do question the sincerity of people like the Reverend Martin Luther King."

"Labor unions should study and read the Bible instead of asking for more money. When people get right with God, they are better workers."

"I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU... I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen" (regarding the 9/11 attacks).

"Thank God for these gay demonstrators. If I didn't have them, I'd have to invent them. They give me all the publicity I need."

Don't forget this shining example of brotherly love:

"[homosexuals are] brute beasts...part of a vile and satanic system [that] will be utterly annihilated, and there will be a celebration in heaven." Jerry Falwell: Quoted in Jim Hill and Rand Cheadle, "The Bible Tells Me So", Anchor Books (1996), Pages 69-70

You can't blame Falwell enough, that Nazi tried to drive this beautiful country into the ground.

Like an article said perfectly- "The religious right has done so much harm to scientific progress throughout history and never, ever have they apologized for it."

I'll dance on his grave if I get a chance, this is a great day for America! Its time people seen as leaders in this country stop brainwashing people for their own selfish causes. Just my $0.02...

This dude obviously knew nothing about Jesus, or his forgiveness. As a Christian, this makes me so mad because these are not the things that Christ spoke about.

For you my friend, I would recommend that you read the bible and discover the real answers to these things for yourself. Why listen to some dude who you don't like when you could find out the truth for yourself?

Research man, research. I'm not even bothered by this guy as he obviously has no clue what he's talking about. Why are you?

And I'm paraphrasing-
"I blame the ACLU, the gays, and feminists for 9/11. I look at them as say 'You helped this to happen!'"

Actually, I could care less (although his quotes are extremely entertaining).

I'm pretty that Tinky Winky gave a sigh of relief tho.

Falwell was a dangerous and insane individual, whose remarks can set into motion hatred, prejudice, discrimination, bigotry and the pain, upheaval and violence those things beget.

Falwell was an idiot, second only to George W. Bush.

Not inspiring at all!

I am Christian and he really gave us a bad name and probably stumbled a lot of people AWAY from the faith who looked at him and thought ALL of us are like that.

Hey now, Jerry was a very religious guy!

Every morning he awoke and asked himself "who would Jesus hate?"
