Latest Offerings from the Religion of Peace

5/15/07 ( Karni, Pal. Auth. ) - Eight Palestinian police are killed in cold blood by Hamas terrorists.
5/15/07 ( Peshawar, Pakistan ) - A suicide bomber massacres over two dozen people, mostly Afghan refugees, at a hotel. These include women and children.
8,313 terror attacks since 9/11

Meanwhile, the 'peaceful majority' of muslims decried these latest developements by doing......... nothing.

CAIR, the 'council for american islamic relations' reacted to these latest terror attacks in the usual manner, which is to say nothing.

And so it goes....

I logged back on here a little while ago, and discovered several people barely able to conceal their glee that Jerry Falwell was in the hospital. Some even wondered what level of Hell he would end up in.

If there was anything that proved that people are sinful and depraved, this has got to be one, don't you think?

Why do we still read the old King James and sometimes pastors will read from it speaking in Elizabethan english. Is there really a point...I mean who talks that way anymore? Why add to what others may find confusing?

I just saw someone quoting Revelation 18 to say that the church (all churches) is so corrupted that it is no longer of any use to attend church, because time for Great Tribulation is coming.

Is that true? I am a recent convert to Christianity so this is a serious question (I know it can sound like naive or blasphemous but it is not)
God bless you for your help.

In this chapter it specificly says to cover it up so god does not walk in you *&#%. If god knows everything why can't he just avoid it. If it is about our cleanlyness why not just say so, why make up the stuff about god not wanting to step in it. Whats the deal.

My partner died very suddenly and traumatically leaving a big hole in my life. He did not deserve to die (nor do many others) and it has left me with PTSD - a mental illness. I am finding each day hard to cope, but gaining no comfort within my christian religion. I feel angry with God am I being fair?

Please no nasty answers I am suffering already as it is. Thanks

I had a fortune cookie that actually told the future. Do I convert? Here is what it said "You will be hungery again in 10 minutes." Creepy, I know. Must I bow to the awsome powers of the god of fortune cookie prophesy?

The other day I was having a conversation with my in-laws about religion. I, as a deist, stated that I did not believe the stories of Noah’s Arc, Moses parting the Red Sea, etc. and that I did not like the way that women are depicted in the bible, as well as how homosexuals are condemned. My in-laws and my wife, all of whom are Christians, agreed with me and voiced their own doubts about these stories/principles. However, when I went on to say that I believe there is a Creator of some kind, but that I feel that most, if not all of Christianity, is a myth, the room got silent. Everyone said, “Oh well, I know that Jesus died for my sins,” “What about Jesus, don’t you think he died on the cross,” …… This is not the first time I have come across Christians who say that part of the Bible is true and part of it is not. Christians: There are only two possibilities: 1) The Bible is totally unreliable or 2) the Bible is 100% accurate. If the Noah story is not true, if God really does not dislike homosexuals, then nothing in the Bible can be relied upon. If the Bible is 100% accurate, all homosexuals will burn in hell, women are inferior to men, incest is okay, etc. Pick a side?

I'm posting this in the Religion and Spirituality Forum, because that is where I typically answer questions.

You've all seen those incredibly long answers, that are typically long cut and paste jobs. But you also know that for certain questions, you need more details to adequately answer a question.

So, in what circumstances will you actually read long posts, and when do you skip over them? What do you consider too long of a post to read?

As human beings full of emotions that can change from day to day, sometimes hour to hour, what happens when we don't feel so loving twoards a spouse, child, parents, friend neighbor
we don't just kick them all to the curb because we don't feel the love we should have for them at some certain times, but we honor our commitments to people as we honor GOD so my question is" Do you think Commitment is more important than Love since Love can change all the time?
