Where did you hear that?
First of all, a traditional Muslim does not drink. Period. It is not allowed. So your example is not a valid one.
Christianity does not prohibit drinking, only DRUNKENESS. That is, drinking to the point where you do things that dishonor God.
And I'm not sure where you live but where I live, you can buy alcohol any day of the week.
You need to be clear on your facts before you post an example like that.
Furthermore, in countries that are predominantly Muslim, their faith dictates EVERY part of their government. The USA is one of the few countries where the predominant beliefs of the country do not completely dicate the government.
Why do Christians want to include their beliefs in government? Why not? What horrible thing can come of that?
Christians believe that God is the ultimate authority and that a government can only be truely successful if it is in submission to God. That is why. What's wrong with that? What horrible law could they come up with that would be so detrimental to our society.
What's your problem with Christians in government. Our country has freedom of speech and freedom to practice any religion we want to. Each person is guarrenteed the right to vote and to participate in goverment regardless of their beliefs. Why should Christians be excluded from that simply because their personal beliefs do not reflect yours?
If you prefer that Christians and their beliefs be left out of government, get ready to have a regular work day on Christmas. That is a Christian holiday. They were just nice enough to share it with the rest of the country.

Now, that is strange, because I had thought that Muslims were not to have alcohol ever, on any day. I know that Muslim cabbies in NYC got into the news awhile back, for refusing to accept a fare carrying alcohol...even cooking sherry.
The law you are talking about, actually does not apply everywhere. It is up to the local legislatures. For instance, where I live, in Southern Alabama, it is against the law to sell alcohol on Sunday. However, we are less than ten miles from the Fla border, where it is legal. I guess you know that lots of folks simply go to Florida for their cooking sherry on Sunday.
Blut, we digress. To answer your question, most Christians really don't think much about controlling everything. It is true, some of us are a mite upset that the ACLU consistently seems to support any other relligion BUT Christianity, but, hey, that's to be expected.
However, I ought to tell you...while Christians are not in control of everything, we do know Who is.....

No alcohol on Sunday is an example of a blue law. I do not feel like I control anything, especially not the government. If you want a blue law repealed start a petition. I think God is in control, not me and I am certainly not responsible for laws passed before I was born.

The first Amendment of the Constitution is SUPPOSED to protect against exactly that, but religious orgs have been funding and rallying for political candidates for years. It's just the hypocritical nature of our world. The U.S. isn't the first or only country to do that through history. Many have actually been much worse.

You probably live in some small southern town like me. Cuz, beer is off limits on Sunday where I live.
Just take the time to drive to the next town like I do.
Religions should not meddle in government but they do.

if you believe you can buy beer anytime in "The muslim world" go to a state with Muslim control and sharia (sp) law, and try to find alchahol, other than in some hotels for tourists you won't.
Now take a bottle of beer and drink it outside, see what happens . . . .
nice knowing ya, see ya when ya get out of jail in 10 yrs

1 - Christians let GOD take control
2 - I don't know where you're from, but if it's the U.S., you MIGHT want to do some history research - start with the nation's capital. God is EMBEDDED into the history of the U.S. and Christian beliefs were a VERY big part of the foundations of this country. Separation of church and state simply means that the government can't FORCE us to practice one religion or another.

Thats the problem in our country today. It's a great big mess because they have left God out of our leadership and have gone out on their own. That is why our Government is failing right now.
Our Government was once founded on the basis of God's Laws, but now satan has misled them all.
They can't even agree on this stupid war!
Mark 3:25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
Luke 11:17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

Welcome to a country where a majority religion pretty much rules the roost. We can call ourselves a democracy where religion isn't a part of it but in reality that isn't true. It is a never ending fight to be free of christianity or Islam in this world. Good Luck.

beats me. maybe it's part of that trying to save us thing. they can't get you not buy it on Sunday but they can get the stores to stop selling it - which results in you not buying it on sunday. so they have succeeded in saving you from yourself on this point. cheer, cheer, another job well done, another victory won against godlessness.
i just wish they'd get a life beyond trying to save us. they mean well, i suppose, but it's a royal pain. honestly, we're big kids now. we can take care of ourselves.
