Dee I'll accept others have different beliefs when they can give me some intelligent answers..and not simply use the word "faith"
That is pathetic

Sun..they do themselves NO favours by being so mindless in their responses..it harms my intellect because they come across as human beings from the middle ages.

Sigh

Allow people to have different views. If they have faith, they do.

How does that harm you in any way?

To answer the question 'what is faith'. Faith is believing in things that you can't see. Everybody has faith (sorry, I have to use that word as it is the only word for that meaning). You have faith, even if you don't want to.

For instance, you believe that the wind is there. Can you see it? No. You can see and feel its effects and that is the same with people who believe in God. They see and feel things around them that convince them God is there.

And when you sit down, do you always carefully check that the chair will hold your weight? Of course you don't. Sometimes you might but most of the time you do it without thinking. You have faith in the chair.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
This faith is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It's our handle on what we can't see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, and set them above the crowd. By faith we see the world called into existence by God's word, What we see was created by what we do not see. God that's faith.

Faith is to be used in extremis.. still there when all hope and trust is gone. It will comfort you in your darkest and deepest despair..it won't protect you from your worst disasters or heartbreaks..but will allow you to face them with equanimity when it happens. A solace for the mind in the face of impossible tragedy. Don't knock it or mock it!

Possibly you should find another topic that isn't so dangerous to your health. You're getting way to angry about this. Try not going to the Religion areas and see if you relax a little more.

Faith, man.

And yet God tells us we are to have faith like little children. If it offends you so deeply, you should take it up with Him. I would rather be childlike in my faith than like a fool in my arrogance.

faith is merely another word for ignorance.because their is no logical reason or thought about something that doesnt exist its called a faith.very simple really.something only becomes fact when it is logically proven by unadulterated fact.
