and John Hagee was talking about the end times....the rapture, the anti-christ and all that and he said that the people who do not follow the anti-christ and wear the mark of the beast, they will cut those peoples heads off and then the Lord and the angels will come down to get the people who had their heads cut off and take them to heaven. The head cutting thing really disturbs me....has anyone heard of this?

The book of Revelation speaks of people being beheaded for following Christ and for refusing to follow the Antichrist. It doesn't sound pleasant, but remember that immediately after they are beheaded, those who refuse to take the mark of the beast will be in heaven with Christ. Check out the first link below for a verse-by-verse look at what the Bible says will happen in the last days.

The Thousand Years
1And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.
3He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.

4I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

I've never heard them (or any other fundamentalist) say anything about the head-cutting. Considering that Hagee is very intolerant, I am not surprised, and Copeland is known for his outlandish prank of holy laughter, rolling on the floor, pretending to be drunk in the spirit (conversing with other people in tongues as though it were a normal conversation) and causing other forms of manic behaviour in the services. Scare mongering can be very effective when it comes down to making convert$.

That is a common interpretation of what life on Earth will be like for believers after the rapture has taken place [the Great Tribulation].

Yes - cutting off of the head is what happens during the tribulation period. This is an act of Islamic terrorists. We saw this in Afghanistan to an Afghan woman. Christians must refuse the mark of the beast or face eternal hell.

Yes! These people he is talking about are martyrs for the faith. If you do not accept the mark of the beast you will be beheaded. It is biblical read revelations 20:4.

God bless

I swear that these people get wackier and wackier.

It is like they are in a competition to see who can make the most bizarre statements.

Why were you watching that bull? Ew, I'd rather watch wrestling...

Don't worry, I'm sure he was just making that up. It's been a while since I read the Bible, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't in there.

Hmmm...
That's not in the bible. The head cutting that is.

I don't think it'd be all that painful, however.
