Here is a Southern Baptist article that discusses the sin of gluttony, and how believers are walking in the flesh (instead of living in the spirit) when they commit this sin. Remember, this is from Southern Baptists, not liberals. They make it pretty clear that it is a sin with penalties.

Sorry, I can't agree with you. Jerry was not guilty of gluttony. Bibical gluttony was a practice of the rich Romans. They would eat until they could hardly stand up, then they would go to the vomitory, slide a peacock feather down their throat, which would cause them to throw-up all that was in the stomach.
They did this over and over. That's gluttony. Jerry was an over-eater.

Fat gene? Gay gene? Wow, talk about 'quasi-science'!
You obviously think hell is a joke, so why worry about it?
People shouldn't ask questions about things that they really have no (interest in and) capacity to understand.
BTW, I knew that this man's death would bring the 'stupid brigade' hell-deniers out of the woodwork!
1 Timothy 6:20
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
Luke 16:23
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Some people have slow metabolisms, so you have no idea if he was a glutton on not. Hatemongering against a guy that just died is pretty low. He wasn't my best friend either, but there's no reason for nonsense like this.

Jerry Falwell tried for years to find a gay mate. The gays would have nothing to do with him. He never forgave them for this. He used religion to go after the gays who turned him away from the life he wished for.

Not all fat people are gluttons moron... some have health problems which require them to take medication that cause them to gain excessive weight. That was a very rude comment... are you like 5?

seeing that none of us is God (at least I don't think any of us are), no one can tell for sure.
However, if he has sinned and not repented from that sin then there could be an issue on Judgement Day.

Just because he died fat does not mean he was a glutton nor does it mean that he was not currently taking care of his "temple".

Perhaps just facing the falsities taught in his theology? He will have to wait for all he has led astray to cross over before he can progress...as they learn the falsity of the message.
