I'm a proud Atheist, but there's one thing about it that bothers me...the fact that people can be total jerks and a**wholes, and not get punished for it. I used to think that if people didn't pay for thier evil actions on earth, then they will pay 4 it in the afterlife. But now that I don't believe in that, it kinda bothers me at the thought of certain people not being punished for thier behavior.

So do you belive in Karma? Do you think people who act evil will have to pay for thier actions at some point or another?

Obviously, it's not the butterflies in your stomach. Or that.. because he/she satisfies you physically or emotionally. It's gotta be something else.

Many in our church want to hear hymns played in a simple, hymnlike fashion. Others want contemporary music and they want it played in a loud, out-there manner. Except for a few, both sides are willing to listen to (and participate in) the other sides' music as long as they also hear THEIR music at each service. Unfortunately, those few -- who are exclusively on the loud, out-there side -- are the ones who program the music.

Our music group consists of a pianist (myself), several really good singers (ranging from 2 to 5 on any given Sunday), one or two guitarists, and enough drummers to fill a marching band (we try to keep it to two rhythm section players per service but as you might imagine the loud, out-there people would use all of them at once if they could). I'd say the quality of our music is a solid B+ -- we're pretty good regardless of the style we play in.

Our church is smallish (~200 members), therefore multiple services are not an option.

Any ideas? THANKS!

A comment from a religious person. Didn't god give free will to men. Now we have to pray for his will to be done?Anyone else find it difficult to keep up with the bending of rules to suit with this religion thing?

That everyone has "faith" we who are saved have faith in our Creator, He is shown through creation, but even though we cannot physically see His face ( for he is all spirit) he has given us a glimpse of Him through what He has made, just as Colossians says.
Those who do not believe there is a god, they have faith we all came from nothing-- they have no proof that everything that exists just "wam bam" happened-- so they also have faith but absolutely no proof.
Where as GOD has given us proof, just many refuse to accept it. I just think that is interesting....I am sure this will turn ugly once the replies roll in.

I stumbled into this website, and I thought I’d share it with you. Could this be true? Shouldn’t we all be seeking salvation?

I mean really, THINK about everything in this world, how it came about--- think very clearly about the human eye, how a baby is formed inside a womb....the planets, the stars-- the significance of things-- the PATTERN of things the PURPOSE of things....and you still think there is no creator? There is no need for debates on tv- there is no need for outlines of what you are going to say-- IT IS SIMPLE! Just look around and THINK. Do not ignore your conscious. The conscious that God gave you!

1) All beliefs deserve respect, 2) no matter how weak the logic behind them, 3) and even in the absence of any evidence to support them because 4) it takes faith to believe such things and 5) faith is A Good Thing.

Therefore, the weirder the belief, the greater the virtue?

Have I got that right?

I happened to catch the "Tyra" show today and saw a woman on there that was a dietician and self proclaimed pastor of a church. I do believe in God and I know that if you seek HIM in trying to help yourself with ANY addiction, HE can deliver you. I just wanted to know if anyone here had success with the workshop. Curious.

Is it worth watching? I saw five minutes, up to the point when Ray Comfort held up a soda can as part of his proof for God's existence. I couldn't stomach any more than that, and I am a Christian. Does it get any better? Is there anything productive there? Is there any more footage of that Kelly in the red dress?

Thanks for any info.

Let's say you ask for something and you say you would give your soul to the devil for it. Let's say you got what you asked for. Did I make an agreement and if so, how do I take it back? Am I basically screwed?

Why is man being punished and sent to hell if he does not believe in Allah?
He is given a brain and mind that is not fully knowledgeable in these things leading him to question faith.
Is that not the act of a man knowing not?
So why is he punished for being human?

I have answered a few questions lately here about this very issue, especially from those who are using this argument to say that God does not answer prayer. Christians out there, can we come together and praise God even when He doesn't answer the way we want?

I heard they had a great battle in Heaven for power and Lucifer lost. So God doesn't kill him but banishes him from Heaven and now the earth is his playground. Who gave or how did Lucifer gain so much power, I mean he must be pretty strong to go up against God and put up a good fight. Why didn't God kill him? Maybe He couldn't? God created Lucifer? When Lucifer was tempting Jesus and bringing down Job, he talks to Jesus and God in a way that seems pretty gutsy. It seems that they have some kind of relationship or something. Is Lucifer The Devil, the ruler of Hell? Did God give Lucifer all this power to rule hell, tempt humans, take souls and so on? Before Lucifer there was no evil? Lucifer is evil?

Why should I believe any other human being about my spitritualty,
what proof have i been given that there is a god. Besides people telling me my whole life what to believe. I think I'll wait for my divine intervention before I worship. I'm sure he'll understand on judgment day right?
