That everyone has "faith" we who are saved have faith in our Creator, He is shown through creation, but even though we cannot physically see His face ( for he is all spirit) he has given us a glimpse of Him through what He has made, just as Colossians says.
Those who do not believe there is a god, they have faith we all came from nothing-- they have no proof that everything that exists just "wam bam" happened-- so they also have faith but absolutely no proof.
Where as GOD has given us proof, just many refuse to accept it. I just think that is interesting....I am sure this will turn ugly once the replies roll in.

And my main point to all of this is THERE is proof, which makes christians have MORE faith in Christ- because God has shown us through His existing creation-- and that just strengthens our faith in Him, though we do not see Him physically, WE know He is real!

You talk of proof but there is not empirical proof your spirit deity exists either. You say you have proof because you 'feel' certain things, you have a book with no footnotes, references and citations, you have others that bolster your beliefs through theirs but that is not proof it is faith and faith does not make your deity existent; it just makes you believe he exists.
I am not getting 'ugly' just making a point. I am an agnostic so there is not empirical proof of deities on either side of the argument but as a genealogist who knows the relevance of using empirical facts to trace lineage I see none of that for your deity. I will put my faith in my family, in my friends, in my community and in the humans who inhabit the earth because they are real and they can make better use of my faith than any unproved entity can.

I agree with the gist of what you are saying. But I would suggest that knowledge of God is direct (by our innate sense of Him) and not infered by knowledge of creation. Instead, creation confirms what we already know directly. This I believe to be the meaning of Romans 1:18-22. I do not think God is known "via" creation, as many other people do. This is part of the reason I do not regard creation as proof of God. In this case, God would be a sufficient cause of creation, but not a "necessary" cause.

there is no such thing as real proof with religion, if their were, then why wouldnt everyone flock to that single faith? however, this is the great thing about faith: if you are close enough to god or have enough faith, you will take in the information you learn and see and use it as proof. and also, how can one say that there is no proof in science? they are as real to me as the words in a bible. ignorance is something that is irrelevant, it is human nature. but perhaps we can converse in our philosophies and expand our minds and learn more about each other? please email me if you wish to discuss religion or faith any further.

If you don't believe in God, it's not FAITH, anymore than not believing in Santa Claus, unicorns, or mermaids is FAITH. Faith is believing IN something, even though there might be absolutely NO evidence that that something exists.

Hmm. You don't understand atheists at all.
I don't know where we came from, and I don't claim to know. I don't make any claims about origins, and I certainly don't say that "everything came from nothing." Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. However, there is no evidence for a god. Therefore, I don't believe in him. I never claimed to know where things came from, only that it's a logical fallacy to say that god exists.
Also, there's a strong indication that either the universe is cyclic, or that everything /did/ come from nothing, but this is based upon evidence, and also belongs in the science section of Y!A.

nice try, but nope, there is no proof of god, there IS proof of sexual reproduction, though and that's how I came to be here, as well as you. no god had anything to do with it. As for the rest of it, put thebible or quran down and pick up any science, history or geography book and start at page one. Get an education before you start blathering on about nothing.

Lol, my Religion Education teacher pointed out just this weak that those who have the strongest faith are Athiests as they believe so strongly that there is not a God. I thought this was very funny. But it's true. A lot of Christians have at least a few minor experiences of doubt. Athiests never do. If they did doubt then they'd be agnostic.

If your are going to make bold statements unsupported by fact, expect ugly responses. Further, if you state that you anticipate ugly responses, you are just baiting people. Given that you cannot prove that there is a true agnostic devoid of faith, all you have left is lies supported by hatred.

Yes, I agree. If you're not educated enough to understand the world, not intelligent enough to understand it, not curious enough to want to learn, and not honest enough to admit it - you will think that the world is a creation, a god exists, assume it's your god, and will misuse this site by posting your opinions as facts.
Did you know that there is a difference between your beliefs and the objective truth?
Did you know that not knowing this makes christians seem incredibly unintelligent and narrow minded?
Did you know that your jesus is just a rehash of earlier, cooler gods?

People who don't believe in gods don't have 'faith we all came from nothing' - what we *don't* have is faith in something which there is no valid reason to believe exists.
