I happened to catch the "Tyra" show today and saw a woman on there that was a dietician and self proclaimed pastor of a church. I do believe in God and I know that if you seek HIM in trying to help yourself with ANY addiction, HE can deliver you. I just wanted to know if anyone here had success with the workshop. Curious.

I am not interested in doing the program myself, but interested in what anyone who saw the show thought about it.

Personally, I'd advise anybody who's interested in the Weigh Down program to seriously research its founder, Gwen Shamblin. Her name has come up again and again in child abuse cases. She has her own religion, The Remnant Fellowship, and by all accounts, advises her followers to beat their children. Think I'm kidding? Here are just a few of the many articles about it:

There are plenty of ways to lose weight without subsidizing child abuse. I don't want to be negative or anything, but a lot of people don't know about the dark side of this program, and even if you end up not believing the allegations against Shamblin, it's worth researching.

I almost pee'd myself watching that show today. I can't believe people can be so silly. Did you see her HAIR! My gosh I haven't seen that much hair since female country western singers stopped doing their hair that way.

Yeah did you see her house? Yep can we say I do it for the money?
