There is a Local Law Enforcement Hate Crime Prevention Act that is pretty controversial at the moment. It allows local judicial systems the power to prosecute something as a hate crime if it can be proven that the aggressor chose his/her victim solely on their race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender.
Of course, this is part of the homosexual agenda to prevent christian churches from sharing how god really feels about their sinful lifestyle.
Somehow, people have gotten the idea that they can be charged and arrested for considering homosexuality is a sin, for teaching in their church or home that homosexuality is a sin, and for believing that being homosexual will result in an eternity in hell. That's the scenario that has started the use of the word "thought crime".
None of the above is true, however. What most people don't understand is that this act is here to protect all of us ... and although gay rights are involved, it will also ensure that I would get a heavier sentence if I attacked someone JUST BECAUSE they were a christian.

I think a thought crime is an imaginary concept that came to life in the book "1984". Now, there are no laws against thought that I know in this country, except under the Homeland Security Department. If you believe something that might be a danger to homeland security you could be detained without access to counsel and for an indeterminate amount of time. So, I guess there is thought crime. A war is going on between two different world views (Christianity/Judism & Islam) and what you think could get you in trouble. Interesting question.

wikipedia
thoughtcrime:
As we all know, the only remedy for ThoughtCrime is PoliticalCorrectness. Since SpeechGovernsThought?, all we have to do is moderate how people speak (hi, my name's Orwell) and we can eliminate ThoughtCrime. However, since the PowerOfWords? (and the labels they create) can cut both ways, we can use PoliticallyCorrectEpithets? to chastise those who don't conform.
Hell, we'll introduce a study question in our high school English classes to encourage the idea that our current spoken and written language is somehow "prejudiced" and "biased" and "unfair" (I'm not making this up) as a wedge to creating widespread acceptance for the modifications we require.
This will help us eliminate the current morality so we can install our own.
People who disagree with us will be labelled. Gender Biased. Homophobes. Racist. Fascist. Reactionary. Mentally Ill. And those things that we can't get declared as "crimes" we'll get declared as "illnesses" and either way we get to lock up (or medicate into submission) any who oppose our mission.
In the end, people will think as we tell them to! There will be no more crime!
And in this way, Pinky, we can TakeOverTheWorld?! Bwahh hah hah hah

It's a phrase from the book 1984 - a crime that constitutes of nothing more than a thought directed against the totalitarian government.
Just read the book, if you haven't already...

from Orwell
And by the way you are in danger!!!
Your thinking is not approved by the state and you posted this thinking on the WWW.
close your blinds - get ready to leave - go go go go - they are coming to get you.
1 thou shall not think for yourself
2 thou shall accept what they tell you
3 thou shall think only as told unless it interferes with the first to laws.
