(Isaiah 45:7, KJV) - "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."
*

(Amos 3:6) - "Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?"

Dont say I'm taking it out of context for a lame excuse, these are the exact words from God in the bible, there is no way to escape his claims. If you do, you are defying God's very own voice. He also states that he is a jealous God. So, if we are made in his image should we not also create evil and be jealous?

Sincere question. No bashing. I was told the people to ask were the members and nobody else. I asked other questions regarding the Heavenly Family and the LDS answerers tended to agree with the hypothesis that Heavenly Father indeed had a Father and probably a Grandfather too, although official church doctrine on the subject is fuzzy.

According to some members I have spoken to, there is a teaching called "Eternal Progression" which seems to teach we can become more and more "God like" and that the Heavenly family have all done the live on Earth thing and eventually progressed to a state of exhaltation.

So, is Heavenly Grandpa greater than Heavenly Father. Would this mean that Heavenly Father is not really the "Almighty" and one in the line of Heavenly Patriarchs really is?

Believers have a message that can console and release. Let us share the message of hope and good news in Christ, that God loves us and is with us.

Jesus said,"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me." John 14:1

God can talk to us and lead us to the right place at the right time to witness our faith.

What about faith in mankind?

Or faith in yourself, your family or your friends?

I agree that blind religious faith terrible thing because by doing so a person throws away what makes him different from the animals. Namely his logic and reason, but I think we need to draw a line and say that faith in others, or even faith in ourselves is not only a good thing, but often necessary. Otherwise for what reason do we keep on going?

Do you agree or disagree with what I just said? And if you don’t mind please elaborate.

For example, one prediction made by evolution is that if you isolate a species from the rest of the world it will evolve differently. If we look at the animals of Australia, an isolated continent, they are extremely unique.

This isn't proof, but come on you have to admit it is at least an intriguing observation.

I've seen people mention that praying for someone now could have saved someone before they died in the past. Is there some kind of theological belief like that?

How come it seems that the people who truly love God and are walking with Him are the ones that always get hurt and afflicted? Everyone and I mean everyone I know that is NOT walking with God or living for him are living in fat city meaning that they have more than enough in life and prosper and succeed? I am sick and tired of hearing people say Oh when you get to heaven you will be rewarded and blessed Heaven is not helping with the situations I have to face being uniploar, gaining a lot of weight due to medications. I live in a body that only works when I take medicine 2X a day other wise I hallucinate, not being able to give my beloved Steadfast children, and losing my job only to start all over at the bottom.

My question is if sexual immorality is such a sin how come everyone I know that has had sex is doing great? My question is where do I go from here and how do I deal with negative thoughts that never seem to go away even when I surrendered these to God?

We do these kind of things at work to get to know each other better. Its a little "touchy feely" but can be fun. Its very easy to make a judgement about people by what their label is. Lets each tell something that no one here knows about us. One rule, it cant be about your religion. State your belief system and what you want to share.

Here is mine! I am an atheist. I love the movie So I Married an Axe Murder. (total guilty pleasure!)

We, agnostics, have doubts. We confess this. We neither deny nor affirm.
But what about you, fully asserted Atheists? If you're so certain there is no god and that religion is false, why do you keep looking for answers on a religious forum?

We have already seen the effects of Fundamentalist Monotheism in Iran and Afghanistan. Much of what they do is also commanded in the Hebrew Bible, and most of it was not done away with in Christianity until it failed in Jerusalem and took hold in Europe.

Even then, you have the Inquisition, the Crusades and the Witch burnings, plus slavery/servitude and many other Biblically mandated Institutions like Genocide.

Only secularism has managed to civilize regions of the world, as diverse as Europe and Taiwan.

But the Evangelicals think that we need a dose of the Old Time Religion that condemned the tribe of Judah to exile and sank Europe into the Dark Ages.

Should we give them another chance? They seem like such nice people on the 700 Club and at those Mega-Churches.

And Mikey Sever is their new middle aged poster boy.

Many peole would disagree if the resurrection is physical or spiritual. I have come across Christians who believe in physical resurrection. Is the belief that bodies that are destroyed would be reconstituted so the can go to heaven. What about the miraculous phenomena of incorruptibility could St. Bernadette be the only true Christian who is going to heaven. Since her body is so well preserved in an unexplainable way. And since incorruptibility did happen to a couple of other saints.

What did you think?
I really like that Sharpton is going to meet with two of the apostles. I think that will be a great experience for him. I felt like Sharpton was not against mormons as much as he was against Mitt Romney. I thought I heard hime say he apologizes to the "regular" mormon. What does that mean?
