I think he's right. The problem is, it does not usually bring him back to a plain-vanilla sort of religion, let alone to a fundamentalist one, but to a personal awareness of the Divine that is much more profound than anything which he can express to those who have spent their lives trying to take the Bible literally.
And scientists are not the only ones to have this experience. Lawyers and judges learn about Law, in the sense of Divine Law, by recognizing the inevitable flaws and limits in human law. Artists come to a kinship with the Creator by becoming creative themselves, and dealing with the limits of their materials and techniques.
But in all cases, this spiritual awakening is not much help in getting along with those who believe dressing up and attending a church or synagogue or mosque once a week has anything much to do with God.

wow thats good...it shows that no matter how hard people try to disprove God,they will only discover the he exists. This world is to perfectly and intracately designed from the smallest atom to the vast universe for it to have just happend by chance or a big bang...Everything in "proven science" points to one thing and that is a creator...***in tone of evangelistic preacher (: "amen, thank ya Jesus!!!"
