(Isaiah 45:7, KJV) - "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."
*

(Amos 3:6) - "Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?"

Dont say I'm taking it out of context for a lame excuse, these are the exact words from God in the bible, there is no way to escape his claims. If you do, you are defying God's very own voice. He also states that he is a jealous God. So, if we are made in his image should we not also create evil and be jealous?

If you believe that there is a God,you have to believe "God be all benevolent"
Otherwise there is a mistake in the bible in the narators or thereis no God

I'm sure He had a good reason. I believe he chastens people (creates evil) for their own good and to get their attention. We are like sheep - very easily distracted from what is really important. If He didn't knock us over the head now and then we'd waste our entire lives. Also, God has a right to create evil and be jealous because He is God. We do not have that right (only because He commanded us not to ). I don't know how anyone can look around and see all the blessings God has given us and think he's not benevolent. His amazing patience with our nonsense is proof of his benevolence, I'd say.

I have a different take on the "creator God". I don't think God created out of thin air. Genesis says that the earth was void and without form and the spirit of God hovered over this "thing." If you read this passage carefully, God called forth light from darkness, earth from water, heavens from earth, etc. So I believe that God is as we (or we are like God) and did not "create" in the sense that he created from absolute nothingness. I believe that God created in much the same way we pull statues from clay or marble, arrange flowers, coordinate colors and patterns, etc....he used what He had. And just like we have scraps when we cook and dirty drop cloths, He had evil and pain and all the other so called bad things. We create in our limited human, earthly forms. God created in an outer-wordly cosmic way. In my humble opinion...

If you understand that the bible was altered by king Constantine and much deleted from Christs life. Then you have a chance to understand Truth. for the Original New Testament Google gospelofthenazirenes.com God is never Jealous in the mundane way you think. You can not Judge His Transcendental Qualities. God steals but His stealing is not like ours (actually HE can never steal because He owns everything) But He plays pastimes as if He is stealing. He also kills demons, but when He kills it is for the benefit of all including the demon who gets liberation from all material suffering. Reading the Bhagavad Gita As it is and Srimad Bhagavatam Translated by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada-a pure saint and spiritual master in a pure disciplic lineage steaming all the way from the appearance of Lord Krishna 5,000 years ago. For info go to harekrishnatemple.com It really describes things in extremely greater detail.

I won't say you are taking it out of context because I cannot remember reading these particular passages in the Bible however God only created evil by extention (He created us and we created evil) God is flawless, blameless, divine, and merciful and I am sure when you get around to apologizing for insulting Him with this kind of question He will happily forgive you.

No, those are the words from the KJV translation of the bible. Look up the verses in other translations and you'll see that they use such words as "trouble[s]", "sorrow", "calamity", "disaster", etc. for the Isaiah passage and "affliction", "disaster", etc. for the Amos passage. Which just means that the KJV (as well as some other translations) suffer from a poor word choice.

He is kind and benevolent. You just have it all wrong. He never created equal, he never wanted evil to come to this world. It was Satan who took the form of a serpant and tricked Eve into eating the fruit of life, which became the first sin, and then you know what happened from there.

God didnt create evil. Evil was automatically created when sin was brought into the world. why do people always have to put the blame on God?. i swear people will be sorry they dont know who they are messing with.

Even though we are created in his image we are not to create evil. I think jealousy is a natural human reaction we cannot control, only manage. I think Jesus' message took away any thoughts of doing evil.

Cause and effect. Time was created to show us that actions have consequences. He created evil in the same way that you create the world that your son or daughter will live in by conceiving them.
