are there any Christian missions organizations in which the missionary doesn't have to raise his or her own support?

please read to the END ok :) i see many christians saying the above in response to questions about evidence of God.my Q is,when you have a belief like this that's not based on scientific evidence,on what BASIS do you say that YOUR belief is more valid than that of a ,for e.g. hindu?

can you DISprove their existence?
do you have stronger evidence to prove the existence of God than all the hindu deities?
assuming you're trying to "save" a hindu who completely believes that the deities he worships are the TRUE ones, and who believes that it was HIS deities who created the world (so the gratitude theory won't work!)and who believe that his is the ONE true way and that if YOU don't believe in it YOU'RE going to hell (note:never actually met a hindu who's so pushy-just an example)

QUESTION:what valid argument are you going to use to him to actually convince that yours is the one true way?

bible scriptures are doubtful because he has his OWN
texts...how would you make it REAL?

I am writing a research paper over Teaching Bible literacy, and I am about to start talking about how many ministers may want teaching the Bible to be placed in the hands of a bunch of "unqualified liberals." Is there a passage in the Gospels to back up the point that those "unqualified liberals" have the right to teach the Bible? ANything would help.

Having just been called an "atheist troll" in another thread for asking about the scriptures that foretell the end of the world and those that foretell it never passing away, I have to ask... Are YOU the one who has the truth locked down? Are you extempt from logical evaluation? Are you entitled to condemn those who disagree? Seems like I've met you before... except that the other guy said something different than you did. How do you figure THAT?

Jude 3
Beloved, my whole concern was to write to you in regard to our common salvation. [But] I found it necsessary and was impelled to write you and urgently appeal to and exhort [you] to contend for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints [ the faith which is the sum of Christian belief which was delivered verbeally to the holy people of God].

"And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be written in the book."

In addition to this verse, please read Daniel 10:13, 21, Jude 1:9 and Revelation 12:7.
It appears that "Michael" is another name for Jesus Christ. I understand that the Scriptures tell us that Jesus Christ is God and the second person of the trinity. Take a look at these verses in the Hebrew lexicon.

**The Bible tells us that Christ spoke in parables (Mark 4:33, 34).

If Jesus came back as a penguin, would you still consider yourself a Christian?

Matthew 8:21-22
21Another disciple said to him, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father."
22But Jesus told him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."
(what type of sensitive role model is that)

John 2:3-4
3When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."
4"Woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied, "My time has not yet come."
(what type of honor and respect is that to show a parent)

Luke 14:26
26"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple.
(Supposedly jesus was someone who preached peace and love but here he's saying staight up that to be in the respected position of one of his disiples you have to hate everyone and everything including in case you missed it YOUR FAMILY AND EVEN YOUR OWN CHILDREN. thats an absolutely terrible thing to say let alone require of people)

Its sad that 2 billion ppl look up to him

I went to a Seventh Day Adventist Church with some relatives. The preacher spent at least 30 minutes of his hour and a half sermon lecturing about why Saturday is the correct day to go to Church as opposed to Sunday. This was at a Seventh Day Adventist Church on Saturday. I would think that most of the people there (besides my wife and I) agreed that Saturday was the Sabbath, being that they are Seventh Day Adventists. I find it absolutely amazing that there is an entire denomination that devotes itself to arguing about which day of the week is the correct day to worship. I do not believe in the Christian God, but if such a God exists, could he possibly be that concerned about what day of the week he is worshipped on?

...when I was a child...I thought, what a good, kind, loving and Godly person that must be.

...now, I think, what a judgemental, hateful, arrogant and unGodly person that must be.

...Do you believe that fundamentalists have ruined religion and turned it into a mockery as I do?

I have not eaten ICE CREAM in months.

I was at walgreens buying some vitamins yesterday, when a demon named breyers cherry vanilla ice cream enticed me to take her home ( 1.75 quart size ).

I have NEVER had such good ice cream.

I feel like it had some sort of addictive drug in it , it was that good.

It now calls my name every time that I walk by the refrigerator.

Is this FOOD LUST ?

(is there any cure?)

Any body else have this problem with certain foods like bar-be-que, or doughnuts, or whatever food that you are currently addicted to ?

( I bet some smarty, at least one , will say >>> "no dave, it's just you" )

I am an atheist. I have heard the claim many times by Christians that atheists want to disprove God with science. I disagree. I think that most scientists just want to know the truth, whether it be that God does or does not exist. I personally wish I could believe in God. I mean do you people really think I want to live with the idea that when I die, nothing happens? Do you really think I want to go through life without hope? I would be overjoyed if someone could prove Gods existence. I could be wrong, I've been wrong before, but I think that most atheists are in the same boat as me.

In Christianity, you are born guilty of a crime you didn't commit, and the price of "justice" is paid by someone who is innocent. This brand of ethical thinking would not hold up in ANY court of law. I think people are responsible for their own actions.

You don't find the same faulty logic in Judaism or Islam, I believe.

God must be complex because the only being that could have made the universe would have to be as or more complex than it. The nature of complexity is commensurate with improbability given the slow, blind mechanisms of natural selection. Thus given the improbability of such near-infinite complexity, God almost certainly does not exist.

But nobody ever says exactly what?Everything is so so vague!God is all around, god is in everything simpy is not a satisfactory explanation. Also 'I prayed for someone to get better and tehy did' isn't either. Can anyone actually elaborate on an experience with god or are going to carry on with this pretence that he exists still as there is still no evidence whatsoever??

I've heard that some atheists, as well as believers are critical of the arguments "The God Delusion" and thus "The Dawkins Delusion" was written to point out the flaws in the arguments of "The God Delusion".

I believe that “The God Delusion” should be subject to the same level of scrutiny as any other book on the subject of the existence/non-existence of God?

Cubes slip from my grasp as the hands of a specter, age my infant form into a well mastered adolescence who's to experience the pains of early adulthood. The prince would fall from his glory tearing into tomes and withered papyrus whilst he tumbled through the endless abyss dubbed "his past". The memories of past loved ones only tormented his physical form and jumbled the cryptic utterance of his sole sibling named "conscience". His men plot against his rule and the warm essence of life's motherly kiss has long since faded along with that of a lover who's memory joined the dust upon his endless mental waste land. What about good people, that bad things have happened to...are they really not as good as we think they are? Did they sow bad seeds?
