I have not eaten ICE CREAM in months.

I was at walgreens buying some vitamins yesterday, when a demon named breyers cherry vanilla ice cream enticed me to take her home ( 1.75 quart size ).

I have NEVER had such good ice cream.

I feel like it had some sort of addictive drug in it , it was that good.

It now calls my name every time that I walk by the refrigerator.

Is this FOOD LUST ?

(is there any cure?)

Any body else have this problem with certain foods like bar-be-que, or doughnuts, or whatever food that you are currently addicted to ?

( I bet some smarty, at least one , will say >>> "no dave, it's just you" )

Yes, lust only refers to sexual desires.

What you are experiencing is a "craving" and there's nothing wrong with that as long as you don't overindulge.

Then you would be guilty of the sin of "gluttony."

Good question. According to the Bhagavad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada Lust is a desire to satisfy the senses. Not just sexual. But we can transcend all lust or material desire by dovetailing all of our propensities in the service of God in this way lust or material desires become nullified. For example If you have a desire to eat Ice cream you can then buy it and offer it first to God in prayer. Actual that food reaction you had was called MSG Mono sodium glutamate. I use to love bryers but now they put it in everything too. It is under 17 different code names including natural flavors and spices. it causes confusion, forgetfulness, all kinds of mental disorders and stomach ailments and more. Get the Organic Bryers It doesn't have it. Glutany and overeating is lustful. We should also avoid animal flesh because it is a violent act and causes anger and lust. I tend to get a craving for certain foods, and want to consume the whole thing.
I don't see lust as truly sexual. People can satisfy their sex drive in marriage, and still lust after someone. This is just a fleshy desire, that needs to be controlled. I believe it is a power and control issue, this is similar to witchcraft (via the Bible).

Yes it's lust....because the desire for it is more important than self-control...I'd love to say I'm not addicted to anything but I do sometimes have problems with food. Only way I know to "beat" it is pray until that "craving" goes away.

Lust is a form of idolatry in that you are looking at a person or thing as a fix for your fleshly desires instead of looking to God to meet your needs. Reflect on what it is about that person/thing you crave and I'd say it purely selfish in nature and unrealistic in terms of providing lasting fulfillment. It's so easy to substitute the living water that God offers for a quick drink.

Yea, lust can be just about anything that has to do with cravings of the material world thing. Just to an excess though except with sex when just about any amount there has to do with lust when it does not involve marriage and even then it is possible to be involved with lust.

Lust is an emotion that can be for anything one puts high value on. Food, money, sex, fame.

It goes beyond craving to a need.

No Dave its just you.

No Dave, lust is not just about sex. It's an intense desire or craving or obsession. It is used a lot when talking about sex that is true...but it has many meanings and is used to show a strong desire for many different things.

I don't think food cravings are lustful
and yes I think we all crave some kind of food at one time or another. When I am stress I crave coca cola and chocolate. and I could go on and on which is why i'm on a diet.
