Currently, its pretty well accepted that Radical Islam is the worse being that it has grown so much, over the past 40 years. Islam itself is fine, its when you strap on C4 and blow yourself up that causes the problem.

However, was there a specific religion that was popular during the times of slavery? Around 1600's catholics and christians were pretty popular, and so was slavery, not that there is a direct connection, but its hard to be a good christian when when subjecting others to slavery.

Overall all religions are the most trouble making. They perserve faith and hope to those who don't have any, but they allow followers and form groups that are impressionable. They also grant power to people who shouldn't be in power, ie bin laden, Catholic preist scandel, etc. Religion while a needed part of society is required but a double edge sword. I am personally 100% christian so I mean no disrespect toward any faith.
