I have noticed many people on the board have said things like this

"There is no such thing as an ex-Christian, that is like saying, "I was once my Mother and Daddy's child, but I am not anymore." If you are not a Christian now, you never were. You may have known the Bible and the teachings forward and backward, but you never truly became and Child of God."

I have noticed this said many times, but none allow email. So why is it that you cannot be Christian and then decide to follow Judaism?

Scientists have learned they were wrong--earth is not the center of the universe, it is not flat, etc. Why are they allowed to learn more but if you are Christian you can never change your mind?

In the case of the woman converting to Judaism, it is not as if you are abandoning god or the principles of the bible. In fact the Ten Commandments were in the Old Testament, and given to Moses (a Jew).

Are do you just think you are entertaining to everyone?

Since 33AD there were millions of people who claim to experience god's love and mercy and the no. is still growing.

But for those who deny his existence may be for various reasons: closeness of one's heart, pride, science, etc etc.

If 100 people says that God exist, then u might doubt their testimony but when it cross million marks and last for more than 2000 years, how could u possibly deny that?

It doesn't matter how many atheists there are, as each has its own agenda for denying his existence. What matter most is you, your choice to open your heart in communion with your creator.

I read Confusius and so many christian values are so similar to confucian values. Yet Confusius was about 500 years before Jesus .... (he lived 551BC - 479BC).

26 Then God said, “Let us make man... let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock ...”

28 And God said to them, “Be fruitful and MULTIPLY and FILL the earth ...”

Now why would God ....through Creationism CREATE HIV?!!??!!?! THAT IS AGAINST MULTIPLYING?!

-another reason why Creationism is bogus

- JAIL BIRDS -
How my God, can you let an imprisoned bird suffer?
Every life lives on another, pray tell me why to die?
Soulful are songs of birds within a cage that cry.
Every day you seem to pass them by.
Some say, set free, inextricably there others,
if your mercy's present help me to discover
with promise of life misery how to be your lover.
Give me a caring Warden who will set me free,
and like a released bird from it's cage I'll fly away.
It seems something more should be expected
if true love bears with pain, and in a song here
combines with it's bitter-sweet refrain.
Can it be the answer, it's wrong to complain?
Anger and ignorance kill the beauties that remain.

Do they not think anyone will look into it and see that they are wrong?? Intentional deception is not a desirable quality in a person. Do you think that people will want to believe anything you say when they find out you started in deception???

" Jesus takes it one step further and asks us to do his killing (Luke 19:27-28) A clear violation of what his father said. "
(Copied from an answer to another question)
This verse listed, when read alone says to kill someone, and yes, Jesus said it, but if you read the whole chapter, Jesus is telling a parable and it is a king talking to his servants. It was a fictional story, told to make a point about stewardship. In no way would an intelligent person read this passage and take it as a directive to kill for Jesus.

11 And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants [5] yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so.

God mentions that he created the angiosperms but failed to create the gymnosperms. Gymnosperms make up about 25% of the world's vegetation but god never said he created them. This fact contradicts that God made everything you see through Creationism. (gymnosperms is only one example of vege)

Then God poofed in creatures in the ocean, birds livestock, creeping things, beasts, and man.

He never mentioned that he poofed in Bacteria, Archaea, Fungi, and Protista! And these make up most of diversity and abundance of life on earth! It is at least half a million species that god failed to create. This fact also contradicts that God made everything you see through Creationism.

Even if he did all that he mentioned. How do u explain the things god didnt create? u cant. Not with logic u cant.

How many of the world's problems could be solved?

Combine it with the money sent to Televangelists and we could irrigate Africa, rebuild the WTC, rebuild New Orleans, send a team to the Netherlands to learn how to build a decent levee system, convert to Non-petroleum fuels, fund research for more cancer cures, help Jerry's Kids, cure Parkinson's Disease and still have enough left over to leave a healthy tip after dinner.

Do we really need another Big Butter Jesus eyesore or more damn churches on more corners?

I am an Ex Christian Missionary who is now an Orthodox Jew. My issue is 90% of my old friends try and preach to me every time they talk to me.

What they don't understand (or forget) was that i use to be a missionary and I KNOW all they are trying to tell me...

So my questions are...

1. How do I get them off my case (without being rude and saying something like "If not believing in jesus and following the torah with all my might sends me to hell then its hell I want to go to) <--- my current line

2. Why do they continue to bother me when they KNOW I know everything they have to say... I can quote the verses and the arguments they make by heart.

3. If do this to your non Christian friends why?

Do Christians who believe in hellfire torment think that non-Christians make a knowing, informed choice to go to hell?

Would you knowingly jump into an active volcano? Which by the way is REAL and PHYSICALLY provable. Far less for hell which no one can prove is a real place and you have to take on blind faith. After all, faith is so subjective. Your personality, education, background, geography, life experiences all influence it. Two people could hear the same sermon read the same book and one converts, the other is unmoved. It does not mean they are evil or want to live an evil life, but they simply do not buy what is being sold and feel nothing compelling emotionally, spiritually or otherwise about it. After all, do ALL religions speak to YOUR heart and soul? So why expect that yours will.

Supposing (BIG TIME) hell exists, aren't they there unwittingly? Is that fair? And how can it be called free-will when you cannot understand or see what you are choosing?

I've noticed that as some of my friends have started having kids they've suddenly become Christian or otherwise more religious. These are people who 2 or 3 years ago would have turned their noses up at indoctrinating religion into a child's mind. What is it about having kids that makes some people suddenly change their religious behavior?
