New translations are replacing YHWH (Yahweh, Jehovah) with "Lord" and "God." Those are not names, but titles. By what authority does man remove the Name that God put in his Word?

Do you feel that you are REALLY doing what you were created to do, or do you feel that you are just existing?

As a skeptic I find it curious why the Hebrew God requires blood sacrifice as compensation for displeasing him, or why misdeeds are blamed on successive generations. For instance, imagine a law that said if your parents had been convicted of a felony the children would also serve jail time. As absurd as that seems, the justice standard practiced by the Hebrew God seems to operate under similar principles.

Christians do not differ from others in habitat, language or custom, they live among Greeks and barbarians wherever life has placed them, they follow local custom in dress and diet , but their way of life is seen as strange to many.
they live in their native land as citizens and share everything with their fellow men,yet are treated as aliens, they marry and have children but do not practice abortion, they share tables but not beds.
They live in the flesh but not according to it,they dwell on earth but regard Heaven as their city, they follow established law and love all, yet are persecuted ,they are condemned and put to death, yet are very much alive.
Briefly, what the soul is to the body,Christians are to the world,as the soul is present in all the body`s parts so are Christians in the world`s cities.
The soul loves the flesh and members which hate it,so do Christians love those who hate them,God has set them in the world as His sentinels, and they may not leave their posts.

How awesome the names of the LORD are! Jehovah, one of the well known names of God means" the all- sufficient one." Jehovah-jireh means" the LORD will provide." And isn't that so true?!!! Think of the story of Abraham and Isaac. When God told Abraham to offer his only son as a burnt offering on Mount Moriah. When Abraham obeyed God and started to offer Isaac, the LORD called out and stopped him. Behind Abraham, caught in a thicket, was a ram. Abraham called the name of that place The LORD will provide. Abraham knew that the LORD would not let him kill Isaac. The Lord had already promised that Isaac would be the father of many nations. Upon initial reading of this story, it may be hard to understand. But, it truly shows us that when we love, obey and worship God, truly wonderful things happen. Mount Moriah went on to be the sight where Solomon would build the temple. I hope that this has been encouraging to you, this morning. Remember, Jehovah-jireh, the LORD will provide

Planets turn around the sun.
Their trajectories can be calculated pretty exactly. Once we know all physical laws we can in theory calculate the exact location of the planets. Generally if we know all physical laws we can calculate in theory the behaviour of matter. A human is made of matter , so in theory it is possible to calculate their behaviour as well.

Where is the free will then ?

are only revieved after you die?

if you had an adult who had never even heard of god, how long would it take to convince him that there was one, that you need to obey him, you can't sin, and you must have faith that he exists without concrete proof, and your rewards for living by his rules were only available to you after death?

I am not asking who has read other books that voice their opinion on the church. I do not mean who's church talked about mormons in sunday school or a sermon.
I am asking who has honestly researched the church, read the Book of Mormon, and prayed to honestly find out if the church was true and the Book of Mormon is the word of God.

If so, what happened?

A question was asked about where to start off at when reading the Bible for the first time. Some stated John, and others stated Matthew, while others stated Acts.

Why would you have someone start at the second half of the Bible, when you would need the first half to understand it?

Thanks to all who answer

For example-do you refuse to believe that scientists taught us that the earth is round? How about the solar system that I wouldn't imagine was in the bible due to lack of telescopic equipment-do you believe that is there?Or is that the work of the evil scientists as well? Do you use hospitals for medical care-if so, why trust medicinal science that progressed (like everything else) over the years?
