Now I know where the misconception comes from that enjoying sex was the original sin. . . the insight they gained being sinful in nature. You will remember that they did not know they were naked before eating the fruit. Thus the connection between the sin of disobedience and and sexual awareness.
For this reason, everyone suffers hangups about sexuality and the world is such a messed up place.
Ignorance can never be better than insight. I wont put the apple back. Surely this is all figuritive anyway and the first mistake is to take the Bible too literally?

Yes, the two possibilities were:
You can live in paradise as long as you don't ask questions and live in ignorance.
Or two, you can bust your *** in life and seek knowledge.
Good choice. Plus they got some free fruit out of it.

They were not ignorant nor were they that much more insightful. They had a good thing going. Hundreds of trees to eat from plus vegetation. Ideal living conditions. No sickness or disease. No death. Perfect health.
They only had ONE law. Today man has so many laws it is impossible not to break some just going about your daily life. They only had ONE. To show their respect for God as their creator and ruler, He picked one tree and said don't eat from that one or there will be punishment. Hey! I'm fat and imperfect but even I could follow that one.
They believed the lie and willfully disobeyed.

The choice was between eating from the tree of life or from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The choice was to live by God's direction or by self direction. Adam and Eve choose to live by self direction and effort. Ignorance is never in the picture.

Let's see... live in an idyllic garden and be an unsuspecting but happy doll with no personality, or be able to understand and appreciate the good things even though I have to experience the bad?
I think I'd rather stay here in Nod, thanks.
