My Uncle who is about 10 years older then me has always been a major part of my life. I consider him to be like a brother to me. He joined a Christian church, I started going with him and was almost going to be baptized when I felt it wasn't right for me and just stopped going. This apparently hurt his feelings, then a few years later I joined the LDS church and he hasn't really been close to me. Whenever I try to talk about spiritual things for example I told him that others can see that he is has Christ like attributes and that is why they would like to hire him for some job, and he acts all strange. When I told him I joined the LDS church he did not say anything,, which was creepy. I am probably not making any sense, it is hard to explain he just gets weird and I never ever mention my church or anything for fear of offending him and I think he feels the same. Now we don't talk at all, I sent him pictures of my baby via email and I got no reply. Our relationship was broken by the fact that I did not join his church and ever more broken i think because I am LDS, though he has never said anything about it. Have not talked for almost a year now.

It was my Mum, and it was more or less her fault.
I used to lose her to the Mormons like maybe one or two afternoons a week when she went to look at their genealogical records.
Damn you family history, you tore my family apart. Apart I say!
Waah!
(In honesty, I stand in awe of the service the Mormons provide, so much more than I see "fundie" churches doing).
Thanks, guys, you've provided my mother with a source for information for an interesting 'hobby', (bordering on obsession, as genealogy tends to).
You get a thumbs up from me. You're okay people.

I think Mormonism is a valid religion, even though I disagree with it, so I wouldn't say "lost" a family member. Some of my family in SLC is Mormon, their whole family is Mormon. But they're not very good Mormons, because they sometimes drink wine.
Blessed Be,
Amina

I lost a Brother in Law when my sister got smart and divorced his arrogant butt. She took him and his family for all they had. Then he tried to act tough and I had him arrested for stalking. Lawsuit still pending.

I am assuming you mean lost a family member to Mormonism? Yes I have, to both Mormonism and JW's. Who's fault was it? Each person makes there own choice. Both of these cults use guilt, and working for your salvation as a method to go to heaven.
I have made my choice, and I choose Jesus, my Lord, my King. Religion does not save only through his shed blood can we enter the kingdom of God.
I do not believe as the Mormons teach I can earn my way up the scale to the 3 different heavens, nor do I believe I have the ability to turn into a God when I die.
I do believe that if I except Jesus as my Savior when he calls me home I will be with him in a twinkling of an eye. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Amen
