If it is still not too late for me could someone pray with me at 3:00 today for I trully wish to change my life around but cannot without a simpathetic voice to focus on. Could you be that voice that transforms my life?

It has been reported that there is manuscript evidence in Scotland that John 6:4 was not in the original manuscript of the book of John. I'm researching this and want any evidence that is available. If this is true than the ministry of Yahshua of Nazareth was a little over a year long, not 3 and a half years as most Christians teach and believe.

There are two differing conceptions of democracy prevailing today - which one do you subscribe to?

Conception 1) A democratic society is one in which the public has the means to participate in some meaningful way in the management of their own affairs and the means of information are open and free.

Conception 2) The public are basically stupid and must be barred from managing their own affairs and the means of information must be kept narrowly and rigidly controlled..... they ought to be deprived of any kind of organisation, because organisation just causes trouble. Their only role should be to sit in front of the TV and having drilled into their heads the message, which says - the only value in life is to have more commodities or live like that rich American middle-class family you're watching and to have nice values like harmony and Americanism. That's all there is in life.

Personally, I think one creates their own destiny with the choices they make.

Many events happened in my life recently. Firstly, a close member of mine died of cancer and my 1st relationship ended as well. There were a lot of reasons for the break up but I didn't expect the breakup to occur at a time when I needed him the most.

It's really a tough period for me right now and I don't understand why all these has to happen...Sometimes I think that God made me go through all the events to make me stronger and yet at other times, I'm not too sure.

What do you all think? Is it all in his plans?

some christians from time to time answer questions by simply saying stuff like;
'your dumb, thanks for the 2 points'

like they've claimed some weird little childish victory over you

do they say this before or after they realise there is buckleys of them getting a best answer.
since there motivated by the pionts system.

I think the most common phrase I have ever heard, is that we Christians are "brainwashed". I will tell you why you think so: it is because worlwide, we "speak" the same language and you hear it. Now have you never asked yourself WHY we "speak" the same language??

It is not because of what any pastor, etc., has told us, but rather because the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, lives inside us when we are born again, and it is THIS Spirit, who speaks through us, universally.

Perhaps you ought to think if its not YOU who is being brainwashed into thinking WE are simply brainwashed???

The sun is shining, the birds are singing. There's food in the cupboard, money in the bank and I'm at peace with the world.

Seems enough to me. (OK, I may have to walk to the shop to buy chocolate. I never said it was perfect!) How about you?

Can't athiest find better things to do than come to Y!A and bash people that do believe in God?

If you don't believe in God, then wouldn't it make more sense to go somewhere else and talk about something that DOES exist?

My book tells me of the value of friendship. Of being true to your self and knowing your limitations. Of the joy to be found in the simple pleasures of life. That 'learning' isn't everything. That nothing lasts forever, (except perhaps love).

It's called 'The House at Pooh Corner'.

The eucharist and communion celebrate the life of Christ by drinking of his blood (wine) and eating the flesh (bread). That is, in fact, theophagy - the eating of God.

Wouldn't it be more logical for God to be a "She"? I mean, if you're giving birth to a whole universe and the beginning of life within it, that seems inherently motherly to me.

In an earlier question about the finding of transitional fossils of whales, one christian told me that Adam & Eve were told to REPLENISH the Earth, and that if I looked up the meaning of replenish, I would understand.

Replenish:To fill or make complete again; add a new stock or supply to: replenish the larder.
To inspire or nourish: The music will replenish my weary soul.

Did they have to restock the garden of Eden?

So did Adam & Eve give birth to all the animals or something?

Did they go shopping to fill the larder?

Or did they inspire each other with poetry and music to nourish the soul?

Sorry dude, I looked it up, and I'm more confused than I was before about where you're coming from.

The following link was provided in response to one of my questions as something that may "answer some of my questions".

It's about a guy with a masters degree (not a PhD) in physics who decided he'd found evidence for the Genesis story of creation.

It's about polonium halos if you're not interested in watching.

It took only 20 seconds on google to find several articles from more qualified scientists tearing his arguements apart.

Why don't fundamentalists question these things that get thrown at them?

When virtually the entire scientific community takes a certain standpoint, and some dude with a masters reckons he's right and the rest are wrong, isn't it worth investigating a bit rather than blindly accepting what he's saying because it goes along with the bible?
