Can anyone explain this precisely without some bland obfuscatory, round the houses, accross the board, generic religious answer?

Have you heard of the Tower of Babel? Man decided to build a tower tall enough to reach Heaven and see God. God didn't like that, so he mixed up their languages so that no one could understand each other and they couldn't work together. Soon, the people who spoke the same language found each other and set off to find a place to live together. The understanding of color is a bit more obscure. It might have been that the people who traveled closer to the equator had skin that eventually got used to the sun and darkened in color. The Bible also speaks of a mark that God put on Cain that protected him. It might be that his skin was darkened.
Sophie? Lovely name but you don't REALLY believe that nonsense do you?!

God confused men's languages at Babel -- the place name means confusion. Confused in the sense of given each of the then existing families their own separate language! This has since then splintered into many more.

The story of Adam and Eve is a myth designed to explain sin and pain. If you try to figure out facts based on myths you are not going to get anywhere...

The reason we have so many races and colors is because God doesn't much like the world to be one color! How would you like to just have one food for all, animals, insects, men? One kind of flower, one kind of tree, etc.
It seems that God's philosophy is infinite variety in infinite kinds of life.
If you try to imagine a God that even has the ability to see what every human thinks every moment all the time -- perhaps you might understand what I believe -- that boredom is what God fights against all the time. Thus the immense universe, the number of stars and planets. Thus the number of species of plants, microbes, insects, animals, etc.

According to the Bible, all people today descended from the survivors of a great Flood - Noah's family, who in turn descended from Adam and Eve (Gen 1:11). There are many stories, from many parts of the world, of a great Flood that only several people survived to repopulate the earth.
But today we have many different groups, often called "races" with what seem to be greatly differing features. The most obvious of these is skin color. Some see this as a reason to doubt the Bible's record of history. They believe that the various groups could have arisen only by evolving separately over tens of thousands of years. However, this does not follow from the evidence.
The Bible tells us how the population that descended from Noah's family had one language and were living together and disobeying God's command to "fill the earth" (Gen 9:1, 11:4). God confused their language, causing a break-up of the population into smaller groups, which scattered over the earth (Gen. 11:8-9). Modern genetics shows how, following such a break-up of a population, variations in skin color, for example, can develop in only a few generations. And there is good evidence to show that the various groups of people we have today have NOT been separated for huge periods of time.
One could say there is really only one race - the human race. The Bible teaches us that God has "made from one blood all nations of men" (Acts 17:26. Scripture distinguishes people by tribal or national groupings, not by skin color or physical features. Clearly, though, there are groups of people, who have certain features (e.g. skin color) in common, which distinguish them from other groups. We prefer to call these "people groups" rather than "races," to avoid the evolutionary and racist connotations that have become associated with the word "race."
All peoples can intermarry and produce fertile offspring. This shows that the biological differences between the "races" are not great. In fact, the DNA differences are trivial. The DNA of any two people in the world would typically differ by just 0.2%. Of this, only 6% can be linked to racial categories; the rest is "within race" variation.
This genetic unity means, for instance, that white Americans, although ostensibly far removed from black Americans in phenotype, can sometimes be better tissue matches for them than other black Americans.

The changed; everythings are being changed everyseconds. The changes are not obviously but powerfully.
Language change; you try to communicate a news with others, ten time later, you will see the different.
Life; your body change every seconds but your brain not find it.
Mind; which is created by your knowledges, educations, experiences, background of cultures, actually you changed all the time.
It is because our mind changing all the time, burning out energy and active our stems that is burning our life. We can see a tantra yogaist and lasting their life longer because his energy can save up by stoping mind come up and down.(not only stop breathing, blood running and mind stopping.)
The nowaday physist will tell a man without breath and blood circle and stop mind is dead. And the tantra yogaist can alive again. The dead man will not.
Colour; As we know, the more sunshine, the darker the skintone. The food chains also control of our skintone as well.
Race; This is regionally by culture and background. The leader changed, the races changed too.

You are limiting the range of answers yourself and there might be a lot of truth in some of the answers you are potentially refusing. May be you know the answer - so don't ask others, if you don't know then don't limit others. Even if someone explained it to you, you wouldn't understand it. First of all nobody can know it and how come you don't understand that noone is able to give you a real answer as all people are ignorant about it (especially about the process).

They tried and actually did it in different angles, positions, in the night time as well as in the day time, sunrise, sunset, hot weather and rainy days, in the bush, in the open, wow!.... those kids really knew how to do it, enjoying themselves, and creating a helluva kaleidoscope of races that has become a big problem in the world today.
But heck, it's just a story.

Colors.. Some people were cursed for, uhmm.. what? 10 generations?...
Races... I'm not sure what you mean by this because we are all ONE people.. we have been separated by physical barriers and so developed different customs and rituals.
