I think the most common phrase I have ever heard, is that we Christians are "brainwashed". I will tell you why you think so: it is because worlwide, we "speak" the same language and you hear it. Now have you never asked yourself WHY we "speak" the same language??

It is not because of what any pastor, etc., has told us, but rather because the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, lives inside us when we are born again, and it is THIS Spirit, who speaks through us, universally.

Perhaps you ought to think if its not YOU who is being brainwashed into thinking WE are simply brainwashed???

The answer is simple:

1Cr 2:14 But people who aren't Christians can't understand these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them because only those who have the Spirit can understand what the Spirit means.
1Cr 2:15 We who have the Spirit understand these things, but others can't understand us at all.

I don't think it's necessarily "brainwashing." Parents teach their children the religion they were taught, but we all make the choice as to which religion or lack thereof, we feel most comfortable with. If it doesn't feel right, then we explore other options. Everyone is given this opportunity, but the only reason many people choose to simply believe in what their families believe is because they are either lazy or afraid of the consequences. People need something to believe in, for the most part, and believing what everybody else believes seems to be the least challenging option. Besides, there are so many people that claim "christianity" but don't follow the religion very closely that it is a very loose religion in today's society. As for the insanely religious bible-thumpers, well, they are weak minded and afraid to be themselves. Maybe they are brainwashed, but only by their own fears and inhibitions.

First of all the holy spirit does not live "in Us" we must continually pray for that spirit to affect our lives. If the holy spirit were working with you, your words would not be so angry. That is the language of the holy spirit, peace, and kindness and respect. Yes as Christians we should be "brainwashed" by seeking God's holy Word. We clean out all the filth that was in there, and replace it with what we are learning from God's Word.

Why does the "spirit of 'God'" disagree with itself on such important matters as the necessity or not of baptism, or whether hell is eternal or not, or whether it is necessary to tithe, or whether or not listening to music is a sin, or whether or not there are saints who intervene on behalf of sinners, or whether or not a woman whose life is at risk in a pregnancy should abort, or whether or not this and whether or not that? Put three Christians together in a room and within an hour they'll find something in Christianity to argue about.

No, you do not speak the same language. You do not have a magical spirit speaking collectively inside of all of you. You have been brainwashed to believe in Christianity, but only your particular form of it, according to your church, your pastor, your family upbringing.

Brainwashed?

More like ritually lobotomised.

Christians claim to have free will... yet they CHOOSE to become bleating sheep.. clones of an inconsistant and hypocritical system. They claim as undeniable fact things which are irrefutably nonsensical.

No mentally functioning person would do that.

To be christian requires the loss of higher brain function... simple as that.

They say we're Brainwashed, I think, because they never tried to understand what we believe, or they based their opinions on the crazy people that get themselves their own channel for evangelizing. Either way, we're not Brainwashed.
