Yes. It pained Jesus to know this would happen, but id Judas had not betrayed Him, the scripture would not have been fulfilled, and there would have been no purpose for Jesus to have lived at all.

Even Jesus' Apostles did not understand fully the events to take place and how Jesus would be the Savior...
Judas may have been deceived into giving up Jesus so that instead of being tortured He would be killed quickly...
But, Yes, I do think that Judas was chosen to betray Jesus before Judas was born.

Jesus is the Son of God...his purpose is not to be compared to the purpose of Judas.
I do not think that Judas was born to betray Christ. But God, being able to see and know all, knew that Judas would choose to do so.

I do not think Judas was born to betray Jesus he made the choice to betray him. Judas was one of the twelve disciples so Jesus knew him well and knew he would make the choice to betray Christ.
