Okay this is 2 in one but here we go:

Christians:
Can you please give me some reason why God is so quiet lately? Why does everyone contradict eachother when it comes to the Bible?

Wiccans:
What exactly is your religion (no need to sum it up.. I have time to read all of this) what do you believe, what's true and false of what others say it is?

why does the christian bible even include the old testament? so many times, whenever people give examples of how cruel and unloving god is they use verses from the old testament. christians often site the obvious that this is old testament, and that the new law in the new testament doesn't apply to that. i've even heard some christians' theories that the god in the old testament is actually satan. i don't know if i could make my imagination stretch that far. so we'll just leave it as what seems to be the popular opinion. which brings me back to my question. why is the old testament still used as a means to tell people how to live if everytime someone's gonna use it to point out something wrong with the bible, the usual response is "that's old law, we don't use that anymore."? would the bible not have as much credibility without it?

And I don't mean the fairy tales like the imaginary flood and the Tower of Babel.

I mean the things he ordered the Israelites to do, acting as their 'leader' or General.

How would he stand up in a court of International law?

Anyone who has been decieved into thinking that God is evil, please tell me where you got this notion from. If you say, "from reading one of the Old Testament books in the bible", please tell me whether or not you read the New Testament? The devil is the one who comes to kill, steal & destroy. The laws in the old testament were solely in place because of the deception that took place in the garden and the choice that Adam & Eve made. Please answer honestly and take some time to read the New Testament and learn of a God who is LOVE.
God LOVED EACH One of YOU so much that HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON. Would you give your only son up to death even for people that mock you? That is true love and that is the TRUE character of God.
I pray that each of you will take a moment and think on that... also search the scriptures of the new testament and search the truth out for yourselves. If you'll ask God to show you how REAL He is, He will Show you. What do you have to lose?

I have heard many people tell me that angels are absurd. Even many Christians tell me that they do not believe in angels. Stereotypically, an angel lives in heaven, has wings and a halo, and plays the lyre atop a cloud. Is this image correct? I'm sure that the bible speaks of angels as "cherubim" but I m not sure. Also seeing how "Elohim" is a plural word, is it referring to the angels in heaven, or is it reffering to the one God as is claimed by so many Biblical scholars, the plurality of the noun indicating greatness. I have also looked up cherub on Wikipedia, and have discovered that the tradition of putting cherubs (angels) along entrance halls goes back to the pagan cultures of the fertile crescent. The cherubim, as explained by Wikipedia, are depicted by the pagan pre-Judaic cultures as winged creatures with the bodies of lions and the heads of men. Is this evidence, along with the Gilgamesh legend, a sign of Judaism and Christianity being counterfeit religions?

How many "true" Christians can there really be out there given all the things people claim "true" Christians wouldn't do?

If we didn't count all the people who do or have done things that would make people say they were not "true" Christians, would we only be left with a few adults and a bunch of sheltered teenagers as "true" Christians?

Who wouldn't count?

Divorcees (especially pastors/ministers)
Gays
People who have sex before marriage
People who don't go to church every week

What others have you heard?

My family was raised Catholic so when my sister changed her religion to Christian my mother tought it was nonsense and did not approve. I hate being in the middle because I love my sister and she has occasionally invited me to her Church and I met her Pastor which was a wonderful human being. However, because my parents are Catholic they think it's wrong for me to go with my sister and I dont want to feel guilt going to the Christian Church yet I respect Christians and Catholics. So I guess my question is what should I do or how should I feel? Right now I feel stressed out about this situation that I just dont know what to do anymore. Please help.

Leave aside the little green Martian tales, with all seriousness. I can't help myself from wondering that the most likely scenario for human life is that we we were created and planted here by a superior life form. Is this form God? Could be, but I think aliens made us.
My reasons are plenty. I follow science, cloning, Human genome sequencing, etc. Although we are not there yet, there is no doubt in my mind that in another 500-1000 years, assuming we do not destroy ourselves, that humans will be able to create life form. The evidence is there. We will likely be able to be virtually immortal too. So figuring that the universe in hundreds of billions of years old and that other life supporting planets exist my the billions, I have concluded we are not alone. Then I ask myself, where will science be from it's current pace in 500,1K, 1 million years? The possibilities are endless. We were created, but by whom? I believe aliens created us and the government knows ask Jimmy Carter

Ok I just read an answer to a question- the question was something along the lines of "what's so wrong with being an atheist?" you can look at my past answers because I'm too lazy to post a link- but the answer above mine started out with something along the lines of "you kill more unborn babies than all the deaths in the holocaust" I didn't get past that because I thought that was ridiculous. Now I ask you- How many unborn babies have you killed? No not just today but ever? I personally have never killed an unborn baby. I am pro choice but I'm under the impression that being pro choice does not mean pro abortion. I wouldn't have one but I think every woman should have the choice to. So what do you say atheists- Are we unborn baby killers??
