... taken a journey where you left behind a job and loved ones in search of something that you cannot define? I will be quiting my job in seven days to travel to places where i have never been just because it feels like the right thing to do. I am not leaving behind children or a wife to do this, just cousins, uncles and grandparents.

The word "Sabbath" in the Hebrew language means "intermission".

The first day of the week becomes henceforth the Christian Sabbath, because on that day the Lord Jesus entered into the Redemption rest, even as the Father on the seventh day had entered into the Creation rest. Very plainly is this set forth in Hebrews 4: 10.

The Bible teaches that Sunday is the "Lord’s Day" and should be set aside by all of God’s people as a day of worship and a time of rest from the toils of taking care of the body throughout the week

I am reading Heidelberg Catechism. Do we modern day Christians agree with the following passage:

The almighty and everywhere present power of God ; whereby, as it were by His hand, He upholds and governs heaven, earth, and all creatures ; so that herbs and grass, rain and drought , fruitful and barren years, meat and drink, health and sickness , riches and poverty , yea, and all things come, not by chance, but by His Fatherly hand.

Exodus 4:24-26. God has just shown Moses that he can turn a rod into a snake, ordered him to do some miracles for Pharaoh, and sent him off to Egypt. Also, Zipporah is Moses' wife.

"At a lodging place on the way, the LORD met Moses and was about to kill him. But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut off her son’s foreskin and touched Moses' feet with it. 'Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me,' she said. So the LORD let him alone. (At that time she said 'bridegroom of blood,' referring to circumcision.)" [NIV]

Of course, there is no information as to why God suddenly wants to kill Moses, or why rubbing a foreskin on your feet will save you from God's wrath, or what exactly "bridegroom of blood" means.

What is the meaning of this story? It doesn't seem to make any sense. Furthermore, I discovered it on my own and have never heard anyone refer to it, and all seem to be unfamiliar with it.

I don't know of anyone else who can commit crime after crime and be above the law. When will these hypocrites that make the laws , change them, and prosecute these damn priests. Nothing in this world has ever upset me more than this one issue. I have NO FORGIVENESS for anyone who hurts little children.

My loved one who is gone now was 17 yrs old. She was violently raped. Afterwards if she took drugs she would take mega doses. if she drank she always over did it more than others. If she was in love she worshipped the person. if she hated someone she was dangerous 2wards them. if she cried she cried buckets. If she was happy she was euphoric.If she was fearless she would do things that were death defying. If she was afraid she wouldnt leave her room for days or weeks. If she prayed she prayed for days. No matter what she did it was mega overdone. When she gave to the needy it was everything she owned. Nothing was ever in moderation.She almost lived in the hospital for depression and did lots of self harm. She reminded me of the movie , " Agnes of God ".
What is your theory of her diagnosis ? Plz help me get an idea. She was nvr diagnosed with certainty.

Last week in the northern Gaza town of Umm Al Nasser a water treatment reservoir burst. This buried several buildings and killed many ppl. While Israel rushed aide to the town, 8 kassam rockets were fired (by these "Palestinians") into Israelie populated centers!! How's that for gratutude???
(These ppl had been told at least a year in advance that this would happen if they did not repair the reservoir.)

Sometimes when I am talking to someone in casual conversation, if they tell me something that suprises or shocks me, etc. I'll say "oh my God". My sister always gets mad at me when she hears me say it because she says it offends people. But does it seriously offend people, or do most religious people realize that it is just a part of my vocabulary and sometimes it just "slips out"?

Would you seriously consider not being around me, or liking me, etc. just because I couldn't refrain from saying "oh my God" once in a while?
