He was born into a Jewish family (King David = King of the Jews) His genaeology is right there in the 1st chapter of Matthew. He was circumcised at 8 days old. He observed the Sabbath and all the Jewish holidays. He celebrated the Passover Seder with his diciples and Had a sign hung on the cross over his head stating He was King of the Jews. Hope that helps.

He was not a Jew, but an Israelite of the tribe of Judah. It is important to understand that a Jew is not the same as an Israelite. Israelites are descendants of Israel (Jacob), grandson of Abraham. Jews are converts to the religion of Judaism. Ethnic Jews trace their lineage to the Khazar empire in Europe.

Mar 15:32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

HE was the King of "Israel", all 12 tribes.

Because its attested to by the canonical gospels (especially the synoptic Gospels-Matthew, Mark and Luke) and because it is attested by the first century historian Josephus in The Jewish Antiquities, and (sort of) by the Roman historian Tacitus in Annals. Jesus' Judaism is one of the few things we DO know about him with some degree of certainty.

1) His father's genealogy is listed in Matthew 1, which traces his legal line back to Abraham through Issac, which would make him Jewish by law.
2) His mother's genealogy is listed in Luke 3, which traces his blood line back to Jacob, Issac and Abraham, which makes him Jewish by blood.
3) He was circumcised in the temple at 8 days of age in Luke 2, which makes him Jewish by religion.

Don't ask that question. You're killing Christ's mother.
His mother wanted him to be a doctor, but look how he let her down.
