Have you ever had an experience where you realized that we are all part of the same thing, so in a way everything is the same?

I actually heard a Christian say that HIV was God's punishment for homosexuality. I thought, "Are you for real?" So I asked her what prompted SARS and Avain Flu and what exactly was God using them to punish us for. She didn't seem to have a clear answer.

Whenever you debate with them, they usually make some lame comment, say slander, and give you the address to their website. The information on the website is almost just as false as their bible. Am I to believe that their bible New World Translations is actually translated? The people that did it had no credentials or anything. No scholar will stand by it and claim it is accurate. They quote from the NWT as if it has some significance.

Does anyone else only use one source in order to make a decision? Especially when there are bias so obvious that you can't help but laugh at it? I mean come on, they add words just to make things fit their doctrines. Can you believe this?

It's confusing. Everyone says Jesus is God, that they are the same. But then what was God BEFORE he impregnated Mary and made Jesus? I mean, if God and Jesus are the same now, then what was He back when He made the universe? Was He somehow less than He is now? If not, how is He different now that He and Jesus are one being?
When Jesus was alive, was he God then too? That doesn't seem likely, because then God had himself crucified. So then what was the difference between God BEFORE Jesus was born and God AFTER Jesus died?

How come when I tell someone that I do not believe in God, they will always respond in one of two ways.
They look at me as if I just called their mother a dirty name.
or
They immediately start preaching to me. As if they think that I have never heard the word of God before.

I have read the Bible numerous times. I have read the Torah and the Koran as well, and I have not been able to anything that I can believe. I'm sorry, but I just don't believe in any God.

I am still a good person though. I am always nice to everybody. I don't steal. I don't lie. I treat others in the way that I would like them to treat me.

So why is it so hard for people to simply accept that I am an Atheist?

I'm just wondering if it's as rarely practiced as I think and how you like to practice it and what you know about it. No pagan-bashing, please.

The other day my friend who's a real Jesus freak said that she would have tried to convert me before if she hadn't know it would have been pointless(I'm an atheist.) And I was kind of disgusted by that. I don't try to go around convincing people there is no God so why is it that so many people who have a religion insist on trying to convince everyone else there's a God? You see it every day. Mormons and Jehovas Witnesses going door to door. Televangalists. How many TV channels are dedicated to convincing everyone about evolution, or the Big Bang theory? None that I know of. Would any of you do that to someone who doesn't believe? (and please not that I don't think all religious people do this, just quite a few that I know.)

If you believe Adam and Eve is only symbolic then why would we need Jesus to die for a symbolic sin?

Could this omnipotent God not think of another way of saving his only son that it had to send him down to die for some symbolic sin. An omnipotent God would be able to do anything it wants to, but yet it chooses a path in which someone must die.

Do you believe Adam and Eve was real?
how could mankind continue on with Adam and Eve having two boys. That would mean we are all byproducts of inbreds that God put on this earth. Clearly they did not have a choice if they were to continue mankind they had to through incest. I know this type of stuff was common back then, but didn't God clearly set them up. Wouldn't incest mess up your genes. How did we get people of different races?

I was super thirsty. I didn't have any money after buying clothes, and stuff so I figured I'd take one. I mean I felt better but then I felt sad. I ordered a mango super jamba with a sugary sugar cookie, took, and dashed. Will he still love me? He should understand how I was super thirsty, right? My MOUTH WAS SOO DRY! I was super hungry! What do you think?

Why is it bad for people to look into their hearts and find answers? Don't tell me that Jesus tells your heart what to think, that's a load of lies. What's so wrong about thinking for yourself? Didn't God give us souls, hearts, choices, and voices? Or was that the work of the Devil?

Everytime I got to a forum theres always a group of people who claim Chuck Norris as their God. In the movie Talladega nights, I believe Ricky Bobby says "help me Jesus, Tom Cruise..." (maybe the other way around). So will their be a day where I go to a forum and find a Tom Cruise worshipping cult?

My son is two years old. My wife and I don't attend church as regularly as we should, but we've begun praying each time we put him down to go to sleep, and he has actually started to ask us to "pray Jesus" each time he climbs in bed! It's adorable. I was wondering which age would be appropriate to start teaching him about God, Christ, the Bible, and so forth. What are some good methods - that may have previously worked for you - that helped to help your children learn about the teachings and belief system of Christianity? I want to become a better Christian, and I feel that by doing this, it can help me to become a better father & husband, too.

Thanks in advance.

***Note to all atheists, agnostics, Pagans, etc.: Please don't lend your comments on this issue. There are plenty of other questions where you can bash Christianity freely, but not this one please. This is an honest question, and I'm only looking for honest answers from fellow Christians. Take no offense.***
