I have found non-Christian religions, such as Islam, to be philosophically indefensible, being internally incoherent or undermining human reason and experience. To better understand Islam, I suggest you review the following sites:

Only one of the earth's religions, Christianity, possesses all of the following attributes:
1. Other religions revolve around their founder’s teachings, rules, regulations, and rituals. Christianity, however, revolves around a Living Person, the Risen Lord Jesus Christ.
2. Christianity is unique because it is based upon historical facts and the revelation of God in the Bible.
3. Christianity is the only religion that offers the Assurance and Security of Salvation
4. It is the only religion that teaches that salvation is a free gift, unmerited by anyone, of god’s grace. There is nothing a person can do to merit salvation, since it is received through faith, apart from works.
5. Other religions were started because of man’s attempt to search for the supernatural, search for the truth, appease their innate sense of sin and guilt, and find favor with his god. But Christianity is the account of God’s search for mankind. "For the Son of Man has come to see and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10; John 10:10). His love for us was the reason He has revealed Himself to us through His Son Jesus and by His grace we are saved (Ephesians 2:8-9).
6. It reveals God as the Triune God - God as the Father, God as the Son, and God as the Spirit
7. Christianity is exclusive in its claims. How is Christianity Exclusive?
A. The God of Christianity is claimed to be the only true God (Jeremiah 10:10; Jude 25).
B. The Bible is claimed to be the Word of God and the only true revelation from God (Isaiah 8:20; Revelation 22:18-19; 2 Timothy 3:16).
Investigation by even the most skeptical will also reveal that there exists NO SINGLE SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY that has been shown to prove error, factually or doctrinally, in the Bible. There is lots of speculation and hypotheses, but not a single verifiable fact. If you or anyone should discover one, you will become quite famous. Yet, since recorded history, no one has offered it up and entered their names into the history books. Instead what we have is pseudo-science pandering to the masses, as in the recent John Cameron tomb of Christ debacle.
As a simple experiment, try turning your objective intellect towards the argument that no book, comprising 66 “mini-books”, written over a period of 1500 years by 40 vastly different authors, having an outstanding literary internal consistency and coherency, could be written by mankind alone. Add to that the survival of the book’s ancient manuscripts, numbering in the tens of thousands, over thousands of years and yet these manuscripts remain over 98% textually pure. How this possible, when compared to all the other ancient writings are so few in number? For instance, the Dead Sea Scrolls contain all books of the Old Testament, except Esther, and have been dated to before the time of Christ. Now consider Julius Caesar’s Gallic Wars. Only ten copies written about 1,000 years after the event are in existence. In comparison, there are over 24,000+ New Testament manuscripts, the earliest one dating to within 24 years after Christ. How can we objectively and rationally explain this book, the Bible, especially in light of the claims I have made above?
An honest study of biblical prophecy will compellingly show the divine authorship of the Bible. Further, archeology confirms (or in some cases supports) accounts in the biblical record. No other holy book comes close to the Bible in the amount of evidence supporting its divine authorship.
C. The Biblical Way of Salvation is the only way of salvation. There is no other way (John 3:36). No matter how good, religious or sincere a person may be, unless he or she has faith in Jesus they will not be saved. "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
D. Jesus Christ claims to be the only way to God, the only way of salvation and the only way to eternal life in heaven (John 3:16-17). Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).

Islam - the Qur'aan was sent by God. It is a complete and pure religion that has been spread by the Last Prophet, Prophet Muhammad (SAW). We believe in all the books of God- be it the Torah, Bible and the Quraan (criterion). We even take Jesus as our Prophet, but we do not follow his teachings because another prophet came after him with a new revelation.
Christianity.. some believe Jesus is God.. which is attributing something to God which is WRONG even in the real chrisitanity. The Bible was modified and written over again by man so it is no longer a holy book. The real bible was lost. Jesus did not die (muslims believe jesus was taken up to heaven and God made someone else who looked like him, to be crucified). He did not get reincarnated. He is in Heaven awaiting the time of antichrist to kill him. Jesus will come back.. this is all the views of the Muslims. That is what i think is the difference

The differences are simply too many to do justice in such a short reply forum. But briefly some of the important differences are:
Islam denies the Trinity
Islam denies the deity of Christ
Islam denies the crucifixion of Christ, which is the same as denying history!
Islam denies the Fall
Islam denies that Jesus is the promised Prophet in Deut 18
Islam came 600 years after Christianity, borrowed lots of stuff from the Bible, then subverted the authority of the Bible by claiming that the Bible is corrupted while trumpeting its latest revelation as THE truth. How convenient! But people who have studied the Koran are able to discern and point out the many borrowings and perversions in the book.

There are no differences. They are parallel universes on the same road to nowhere taking as many proselytes on the ride with them. One would think that it would be difficult to get people to believe in something as ridiculous as Santa Clause but as children, adults use humans in their formative years for their own means, egos, fantasies and controls and children grow up none the wiser; speaking the language they were taught, eating the food they were taught, proselytized to believe in the Santas they were taught, loving those they were taught and hating those they were taught.
Take all the children of the world at birth and set them in the garden of truth letting them grow and develop with love without religion, without the shackles of tradition and culture......and you will see Heaven coming to earth exactly the way it is supposed to be...not a place you go to..but a concept you bring here. Then you would see the world's diseases eliminated, wars ended, peace abounding and life supreme at last.

a lot of people will come here and tell you how their religion is superior than the other. I'm neither...i don't have a religion and therefore my opinion is unbiased.
Christians and Muslims usually don't like each other...but if they got to know each other..they would make the best of friends. Both religions have so much in common...the hypocrisy, the fake sense of superiority, arrogance and disregard for logic and common sense...they are a match made in heaven.
Just read the hateful comments they are making about each other...you'll get my point..it's a pretty good sociological experiment actually...how people have to bring down anothers faith because their own is not strong enough!

Christians believe in Jesus as God, or God's son. (I know some don't believe in the Trinity). Muslims believe in one God, and that Muhammad is His Messenger. We also believe in Jesus, but as a Prophet and not as a God.
The Bible was changed many different times, and that can be proven. The Quran has never been changed (well, no record that is has been changed, while there is a record of the Bible being changed).
Really, the two are not extremely different, they are actually very similar in many beliefs. Muslims believe that Jesus is a Prophet, sent down with the correct message, the same one as Muhammad, but that this message was corrupted. And the Bible told of a Prophet to come (and that would be Muhammad).

The main difference between Islam and Christianity is that Islam believes that Jesus was a prophet but not the son of God or the Lord incarnate. In fact, such a notion is repugnant to Muslims... the idea that their one God, Allah would appear in a human image. Muslims take the prohibits against graven images of the Lord or even his creations very seriously.

We believe that There is Father, Son and Holy Ghost, Christ being the Son of God...We also believe that Christ is God in the flesh, was born of a virgin, died was buried and was Resurrected. His geneology is found in Matthew 1 and Luke chapter 3 according to tradition, that you will recognize, even as a Muslim. We also recognize the roots of Islam as the Old Testament god called Baal!
It is also found in The Roman and Greek historical records. Others who recorded his life that were not Jews were:Thallus, referenced by Julius Africanus, Hadrian, Mara Bar-Serapion, Pliny the Younger and Cornelius Tacitus.

Endless differences. One simple fact though is that the New Testament was written by Jews (except the gospel of Luke), aside from that it is entirely founded by the Jews. To the contrary, Muhammad was neither a Jew or a Christian and yet claims that Islam is essentially a true branch of Judaism and Christianity but that the Jews and Christians are misinterpreting their own religion but Muhammad knew their true religion.

The biggest difference is that Islam says that Jesus was just a prophet and that Mohammad was the last prophet. Christianity says that Jesus was God, and the son of God, that Jesus was the Messiah. And John the Baptist was the last prophet.
