Let us set aside sentiment and religious ideas. You and I have no right to force our religious ideas on anyone else. Let us also set aside ideas of gross or disgusting. We have no right to force our asthetics on anyone else.

Seeing that adult brothers and sisters involved in incestuous relationships are not hurting anyone else as long as they do not produce children, shouldn't incestuous marriages and relationships be legalized. However, since they arguably hurt someone by having children, this should be illegal.

What say you. Please no religious arguments, only rational ones. Thank you.

I heard your "Church" teaches that there was a thing called "The Pre-existence" were all humans lived prior to being born on Earth. Then there was a great "War in heaven" and all the bad guys were cursed to be born on Earth with dark skin and all the good guys were born "White and Delightsome". I guess thats why your "Church" wouldnt let African Americans hold the priesthood until the 1970's when segregation became politically incorrect. I know that cant be the real reason somebody was born African American so can you please explain this to me?

I believe some things from the Bible don't apply as well as they did before, such as the womans role before. There is something about that in the Bible somewhere and of course I cannot find it so if anyone knows exactly what it is plz let me know. Anyways, I realize that the Bible is god's word and is supposed to be followed forever but don't you sometimes just feel that some of the things are very old fashioned and are not as common now. Ex, sex before marriage, living together before marriage etc... Society has just changed so much since then...

"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall
be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest
not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother: "Let
me pull out the mote out of thine eye"; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou
see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." ( Matt 7:1-5 )

Okay I’m going to have to word this carefully, because I’ve asked it a few times and it always comes out wrong or is mis-interpreted.

First of all do you disagree with any of these facts?:

-God allows humans to suffer pain.
-God posseses Ultimate and Complete Power.
-God does not think pain is a good thing.

Ultimate power would suggest that God can do absolutely anything. i.e He creates all the rules. Rules of Logic, Rules of Physics, etc.

God does not think pain is a good thing, yet he allows humans to suffer pain.

He does this because he wants to build our character, he wants our nature to reflect his.

This means he is following a rule.
The rule is we cannot build this character without pain.
Which means he made a rule for himself that means he has to allow pain to exhist.
If he has Ultimate power why?

A common answer is what does good mean if there is no comparison, how can we have love without hate. We cannot, because of the laws of logic that God created. Why would he make these laws like this if he thought pain was a bad thing.

Sure he does not create pain….. satan, and man does… and he has reasons to allow pain… but the reasons only exhist because of rules he made. Why did he make the rules like this?

The way I see it…
He eighther must obey rules that exhist outside of himself.
Or he doesn’t think pain is a bad thing.
Or…?

This is not a complaint against God, it is a genuine question.
I think God is good and great etc etc.

From some of the answer I got on my previous question about god. I keep hearing the same laments....." You just have to believe", "take the leap of faith", " read the book" or long lectures on creationism etc... Are you all insane?
Of course you will not admit to that! But isn't there a better way to communicate, instead of using metaphysical reasoning and Christian clichés?
Lets come down to the practical world will you? Like: no wars, no tortures, no exploitation of the working class, and lets have a better society here on this Earthly planet.

How can someone tie these two? Not interested in hyperbole, just the thought process, because, to be honest, I just don't get it at all.

Also, any Christians / Muslims / Jews, etc. interested in supporting these two?

I heard about prophet Muhammed marrying a 9 year old child girl and I thought it might be just a historical dilemma.

However, I found a verse in the Quran that gave me the impression that Islam really allows men to marry girls who have not attained puberty yet. The verse [4] from Al Talak [65] states that:

"and for those of your wives who stopped having their monthly period, they can not get married for three months after you divorce them. And for those who HAS NOT ATTINED PUBERTY YET it is the same".

Here is the verse, along with its original Arabic interpretation:
http://quran.al-islam.com/tafseer/dispta...

Unfortunately I tried to look for Yusuf Ali's translation for that verse and I found it is not accurate and therefore you should not refer to it when answering my question, which is:

Why does Islam allow men to marry child girls who have not attained puberty yet?

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth and
populated the Earth with broccoli, cauliflower and spinach, green and yellow and red
vegetables of all kinds, so Man and Woman would live long and healthy
lives.

Then using God's great gifts, Satan created Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream
and Krispy Creme Donuts. And Satan said, "You want chocolate with that?"
And Man said, "Yes!" and Woman said, "and as long as you're at it,
add some sprinkles." And they gained 10 pounds. And Satan smiled.
And God created the healthful yogurt that Woman might keep the figure
that Man found so fair. And Satan brought forth white flour from the wheat,
and sugar from the cane and combined them. And Woman went from size 6 to
size 14.

So God said, "Try my fresh green salad." And Satan presented
Thousand-Island Dressing, buttery croutons and garlic toast on the side. And Man and
Woman unfastened their belts following the repast.
God then said, "I have sent you heart healthy vegetables and olive
oil in which to cook them." And Satan brought forth deep fried fish and
chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own platter. And Man gained
more weight and his cholesterol went through the roof.
God then created a light, fluffy white cake, named it "Angel Food
Cake," and said, "It is good." Satan then created chocolate cake and named it
"Devil's Food."

God then brought forth running shoes so that His children might lose
those extra pounds. And Satan gave cable TV with a remote control so Man
would not have to toil changing the channels. And Man and Woman laughed and cried
before the flickering blue light and gained pounds.
Then God brought forth the potato, naturally low in fat and brimming
with nutrition. And Satan peeled off the healthful skin and sliced the
starchy center into chips and deep-fried them. And Man gained pounds.
God then gave lean beef so that Man might consume fewer calories and
still satisfy his appetite. And Satan created McDonald's and its 99-cent
double cheeseburger. Then said, "You want fries with that?" And Man replied,
"Yes!
And super size them!" And Satan said, "It is good." And Man went into
cardiac arrest.

God sighed and created quadruple bypass surgery.
Then Satan created HMOs.

Both couples say they are *Christians* but who practices it in thier marraige? George and Laura have a great respect for one another, they show it as the *First Family* as they both come from Solid Families. Bill has embarrssed his wife more than his fair share and she takes it like the Femminist she is?

Common now let's be honest here, men will use a woman for Power to thier own gain, a meal ticket or to be laughed at as many do in the Middle East regarding Condi Rice. Maybe define how a REAL MAN respects todays's woman?

If thier was true respect in today's Male/Female relationship why so many divorces that are on the rise yearly?

Do you realize Evolution violates the basic laws of science? (1st law of thermodynamics: in a closed system — our universe — energy is neither created nor destroyed, 2nd law of thermodynamics: a closed system will become more random & disordered, and over time energy will be less available, biogenesis: only life can create life, and cause & effect: an observed event can be traced to an event that preceded it)

Why don’t scientists ever talk about the Pre-Cambrian explosion where a myriad of different species of animals appear fully formed — thus contradicting the Evolutionary tree of life?

Red dwarfs are assumed to be faint old stars that should number in the thousands if the universe is billions of years old. However, astronomers have reluctantly admitted that the limited number found fits a biblically young universe of 10,000 years or less

If science were to show that all things were created, would u still believe in Evolution? I kinda wanna know, and I do hav more of these

OK according to Noah it rains for 40 days and 40 nights and covers the entire earth in water. Forget that there's no way for Noah to tell if the WHOLE earth is flooded, or fit 1 million species of animal / insect onto his boat...

Where did all the water go? There would be nowhere for the water to recede to, and there aren't enough clouds to hold the TRILLIONS of gallons of water that are missing.

1) There is one God...eternally existing in 3 distinct Persons: Father, Son & Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7)
2) Man is sinful by nature because of the fall (Genesis 3, Romans 3:23 & 6:23)
3) God had to be made flesh in order to make atonement for our sins (Hebrews 2:17)
4) Eternal life is a free gift from God to all those who place their faith, trust & hope in Him alone for it?

If you agree with these 4 precepts.....there's a good chance I'll see you in heaven someday.

May God be praised.......

Don't you realize how wrong you are when you begin statements with "Christians are always..." or "Every Christian.." ?
Those are falsifying True Christians and can be placed on the same level of racist remarks such as " All Blacks...", or sexist statements. Those are assumptions and don't stand well unless you have been around the world enough times to meet every single Christian.
Point being, True Christians don't do that. Our purpose is to tell the Gospel to whom we encounter, then leave it up to them to accept or reject. Plain and simple. From there it's up to that person. The next time you feel that you are being judged tell that person that they are making you uncomfortable.

I'm a Christian. I respect everyone, until they give me a reason not to. I'm not going to shove the Word down your throat, but I will defend it if attacked (which is mostly the case on this site). I will respect you, and you can no longer say Christians are always judging, bcuz I don't.
