Proof? It depends on the science. Speculation? Science doesn't speculate? You're kidding, right?

No, there shouldn't be an argument, unless you feel that science should step in the shoes of religion, as some people do.

No. As a matter of fact (and i do mean FACT) the Bible does not state that this earth is only 6000 years old; it states that there was an entire earth age before this one, and that this earth (terafirma) is eons and eons old....
There is absolutely no controversy between the truth in Gods Word, and true Science.
Yes, I know the creationists will say that Genesis 1:1 says "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth".
and then goes on to the days explained;
but, there is a period after 1:1 - When did
God say he created the Heavens and the Earth? He didn't. Just "in the beginning".
As you read on, you are reading of God refurbishing the earth after the last earth age was destroyed due to the great war that satan began. Thats why its says go REplenish the earth, because it had already been "plenished" once before.
This is information that is crystal clear in the manuscripts, but unfortunately not taught in the Churches. This is why there are so many people who are ignorant and think
the earth was created for the first time when they read that. Its sad, really. And it makes a true Christian, studied in the Word, look
like a total idiot, and people laugh. They should laugh. My 7yr old knows of fossils that are older than 6000 years. geez....

Faith is in the mind and science has not ever been able to penetrate that yet.
We find new things about science every day.
We find out that scientific theories have been in error for a long time.
Argument, without the extra E is not necessary.
Teach them both at separate times, or blend them together when possible, don't argue.
To try to mix beliefs with physical things is very difficult to understand and is impossible to prove.
There are some things you just have to believe, with or without proof. And that is faith, even in science.

Not an argument from a logical stand point. More an argument from a philosophical stand point. It like arguing Gravity vs the power of mind over matter to levitate.

Gravity will win every time, and if it ever appears that levitation is in effect, all you have to do is search a little deeper, and you will see the strings.

Not at all.

And yes, it's proof vs speculation. Well... evidence vs speculation, anyway.

all science means is "knowledge"

so the question ...is translatable into "knowledge vs religion"....as if to imply that there is no knowledge in religion...which i am sorry to say....(coming from a family that is religious and has many college degrees)......is beyond obsurd!

BIBLE! Thousands of years of documented proof. The factt hat i've never seen it doesn't mean that it isn't true. Ever seen someone elses memories? But you know they have them don't you?

You know, I think that religion is just a part of human evolution (not physical evolution, but social evolution). Some day it will become obsolete . . . we can only hope.
