logically why would you ran when you meet Angel Gabriel, how did the angel appear to Muhammad unless he meet a fallen angel. Just like when this 3 little children (age around 5-8 ) meet Mother Mary in Fatima Portugal they did not ran when they meet Virgin Mary but followed her because Mother Mary apparations did not scared them.

Is it a convenient time to massage God's ego and mooch off God? Oh Almighty, You Are So Benevolent, I am so stupid, so here I am in trouble, so please bless me, no no rescue me, until I fall into the next ditch and I wont bit*ch. Or is prayer a convenient tool to make gullible people do stupid things? In the name of "God", you are the chosen one, so sip this cup of ....., and in the name of God, protect this country and go to battle, yours in not to ask why, but to do and die, like a hero, in the name of God, while I stay home and pig out on beer and chips, and watch all your stupid deeds on TV on a comfortable leather couch ... protect my riches, yield my guns, and you will be one blessed citizen, one true man of God. Or is prayer a time to connect, with a friend, a family member. Whassup yo?
I know you're busy and all, but jus to say hi, swinging by, lemme know if there is anything ya would like me to do, I will le ya know if I need something, have'nt forgetten ya since yo invisbl..

Bodhisattvas are spirits who come down to Earth, in order to help people. They are always standing next to Buddah- who was from India- as a very gentle looking soul- they usually are so graceful that are portrayed as women.

Disclaimer: Yeah yeah I know about dinosaurs and stuff, this is just me talking in their point of view so that they can relate easier.

So, Creationists, if the dinosaurs drowned during the flood, why wasn't there on the flood? What makes them so special that they were denied the Ark? I thought it was ALL animals....so why aren't the dinosaurs animals?

Explain.

Well im not married to the girl I love but we ahve been dateing for almost a year..But we took a break during the summer. Ok well the question is well she wants to follow the bible and I respect it alot. So well says wanting to go alittle farther such as fingering her and her giveing me a handjob would be lust? I have been reading through alot of the questions about it but I cant come to a conclusion on if it is or not. Yes its a sexual arousal but we love each other and its only with each other and wouldnt be alot jsut once in awhile so would it still be a sin?

...even though I try my hardest to find the truth?

If so, than Jesus's death makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to me. It therefore looks like conditional love, not unconditional love. It's like Jesus is saying: "I will save you from judgment only if you believe in me and love me in return."

If that is true, than I had an ex-girlfriend who had exactly the same kind of "love".

Seriously, how can a perfectly loving being require something that is basically impossible for people like me? That seems even less loving than most human parents!

Anyway, I'm not trying to condemn Christianity, in fact, I really want to know a loving God if he is out there. I'm just receiving so many contradicting interpretations. If Jesus really loves unconditionally, why won't he help me even though I can't believe in his resurrection from the dead or even a God without evidence? It's not that I reject it because of egotistical reasons it's that I simply do not know how to believe it.

My father was born 100% Jewish and has always been a practicing Jew. My mother was raised Christian but converted to Judaism before I was born. Before my parents separated (when I was much younger), I celebrated all Jewish holidays. Now, my mom does not practice any religion. I still get involved in Jewish festivities every now and then, but I would not say that I am "religious". Am I still Jewish?

On this site I have heard several say we are born atheists. Do babies and little children share a special relationship with God from birth? Is it more correctly stated that we are born not knowing one way or the other, and are therefore born agnostics?

Like for instance if you follow the timeline from creation to Jesus to now you get about 13,000 years at the highest estimates. Yet we see stars 15 billion light years away. So at the VERY least the 7 "days" can't be literal.

But, how can you tell what else is literal, and what is metaphor or story?
