...even though I try my hardest to find the truth?

If so, than Jesus's death makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to me. It therefore looks like conditional love, not unconditional love. It's like Jesus is saying: "I will save you from judgment only if you believe in me and love me in return."

If that is true, than I had an ex-girlfriend who had exactly the same kind of "love".

Seriously, how can a perfectly loving being require something that is basically impossible for people like me? That seems even less loving than most human parents!

Anyway, I'm not trying to condemn Christianity, in fact, I really want to know a loving God if he is out there. I'm just receiving so many contradicting interpretations. If Jesus really loves unconditionally, why won't he help me even though I can't believe in his resurrection from the dead or even a God without evidence? It's not that I reject it because of egotistical reasons it's that I simply do not know how to believe it.

Just because I don't believe in people rising from the dead doesn't mean I don't follow the commandments.

I sin frequently and then regret it shortly after. If I could believe in a God, I would surely repent. If I did not even have a taste of what real goodness looked like, I wouldn't even consider the faith.

or I should say:

Doesn't mean I don't TRY to follow the commandments. There.

Can't. . .or won't believe? God never turns away those who sincerely seek Him and want to know Him for Who He is -- not Who they want Him to be.

The problem is usually that people want to do things their own way and rely on their own intellectual knowledge. If they can't have God on their terms, then they won't have Him at all.

God is loving and merciful, but He is also righteous and just -- all those things work together and are not contradictory. He is the sovereign Lord of all, and He has the right to make the rules, whether we understand them or not.

Heaven is a place of purity, and those who enter have been cleansed of all unrighteousness through the shed Blood of Christ. God can't look upon sin because He is pure and holy, so He can't permit sinners to enter Heaven.

He made a way for you to escape Hell, but it sounds to me like you're looking for an excuse NOT to accept Christ as your Savior. If you come to Jesus and tell Him, "Lord, I want to believe. Help Thou my unbelief," then He will do just that. Maybe not in the way that you expect or when you expect it, but it will happen.

The key is being sincerely willing to let go and let Him do His perfect work in your life, in His time and His way -- not yours. If you're not prepared to do that, don't waste His time or yours.

No.
The point of Jesus was to carry on G-d's word, just like Joeb, Moses, Jacob, and countless others. The only way Jesus "saves" is by giving the word of G-d...IE the word saves (Mohammed of Islamic faith, for example, also gives the word).

Note the WORD IS THE LAW...IE if you killed someone your mother (even if her love is primarily unconditional) would be right to put you in jail. Same goes with the word of G-d, only Jesus isn't the only way to learn the law.

This is why so many religions have the second commandment "do unto others..." as the center of their credo. I AGREE THE IDEA OF G-D BEING LESS LOVING/UNCONDITIONAL THAN PARENTS IS SCARY. The way I think of it G-d, despite being all-knowing, can not always do a perfect job (and look at what G-d is responsible for taking care of!!)
G-d will help you though, you just have to be patient sometimes. Realize, though, G-d, in many ways, set up/created a world where people who are greedy, for example, are not happy in the long-run and people who are loving can enjoy and appreciate things others can't, even if they don't get the love back immediately (IE get stuck in "no good deed goes left unpunished).

Believe in giving to other people in the same spirit of G-d (as said through Jesus and others)...and you will be in a great state of appreciation and humbility...which translates in the afterlife into a state of "heaven"...in you don't achieve this you won't go to hell only an "empty state" where you need to learn appreciation to get into heaven. Jesus is only one way to learn living in the image of G-d...and certainly not the only one.

God loves you no matter if you are an atheist or Budist or even a Hindu He does not love me more than you because i am a christian. . But the Bible says that you need to believe in God and his son that died and rose again for us. I know that seems difficult to believe in at times but just doing good things is not going to get you to heaven. and unfortunatly that is what alot of the world thinks right now. The first commandment says that thou shalt have no other gods before me. And if you try to follow the commandments like you said you do, do you follow this one? do you believe in God or something from this world. You said yourself that you would confess your sins if you had a God. why not THE God, the one that forgets that you even did that sin once you confess it . Yea it takes faith to believe in Jesus' death because we weren't there but it also takes faith to believe in the wind. We do not see the wind but we can feel the wind and we can see how it blows the trees. Same way with Jesus and his Holy Spirit. yes we can not see him and we can not see the Holy spirit but we can see what they can do. we can feel the Holy spirit telling us when we have done something wrong. Christianity is not a religon it is a relationship with the most high God. I do not know about you but i am more than happy feeling security in my relationship with Him not someone like an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend. I know he will bring a man in my life forever, a husband. I hope this means something to you and i hope i didn't just ramble on. I will be praying for you. God Bless

The concept of Heaven and Hell is a very shallow one. Eternal damnation and eternal peace in paradise both seem highly illogical.
How can anyone in one lifetime commit enough sin to spend the rest of ETERNITY suffering for it??
How can anyone do enough good to spend the rest of eternity reaping the benefits of that either??

Christianity is a religion of service. Jesus served the people, healed the sick, died on the cross for the sins of others. Believing in Him, does not mean believing in his existence, it means believing in what He stood for.
It does not matter if he was the Son of God or otherwise, what matters is what he preached by word of mouth and by example of his life. Believing that it is own's duty to help the less powerful, meek and needy, is what is meant by Believing in Jesus and accepting Him as the Saviour. Simply going to Church or carrying a cross around does not mean anyone is saved from anything.

Hinduism does not send people to "Hell". Hinduism believes in something a whole lot more frightening. Re-birth! Karma and Dharma. Basically sowing what you reap, birth after birth after birth. God does not judge in Hinduism, no one says you "cannot do this" or "must do that", there are strong recommendations to follow certain practices, though the significance of many of these practices have been lost through time. Hinduism started off as a way of life, as opposed to being a religion, and alot of things pertaining to the way of life a few hundred years ago, do not have any relevance in today's world. Yet, they persist as religious doctrine, due to badly founded blind faith. The belief in Hinduism, is the seperation of the ego from the identity, that gives "salvation" and escape from rebirth. This is achieved through physical discipline (yoga), intense emtions (most commonly love), or divine intervention.

In the end however, there is no one who can answer you. Why? Faith is blind. Religions have been clouded and confused by inaccurate intepretations throughout the years. And no one can answer the question of "Who created us?" with any sound scientific basis.

Without understanding how we got here, how can we speculate what happens after we go??

If you are looking for logic and reason, religion is not the way to go. If you are looking for faith, you can't try to understand it with logic and reason.

The day a religion finds total backing in science, and vice versa, will be the day alot of questions will finally be answered conclusively!

The condition of love and understanding are not concepts of any deity, but created by Humans who think, or believe they are truely doing the work of whichever god it is they believe in. I wouldn't let something like this worry you, because while there are a few radicals who preach the word to the point they lose sight of what it means to be a devout figure, it is more important what you personally think and find spiritually happy with about religion and god of your choice.

Your eternal destiny will depend upon your judgment by God. God is just, righteous, and holy. So we know the judgment will be right. However, I do believe that receiving Jesus will ensure that you get the best possible results at your judgment. That being the honor and privilege to be in a leadership role in the kingdom of God which is when Christ returns and sets up that kingdom, in which he will be "King of Kings", his throne being in Jerusalem. God in his wisdom is selecting people who become Christlike to be the leaders in the world to come. Not to keep people from going to hell in a hand basket. I don't believe thats happening. I believe people will recieve different levels of reward AND also different levels of punishment, depending upon your judgment.
Look at how complex our legal system is in an effort to be just, with different possible punishments to fit the crime. How much more effective and just will God's legal system be!

Jesus does love you. It may look conditional to you...But think of it this way. Everyone is condemned to die as a result of sin. Jesus died on the cross to pay the price so we wouldn't have to die in our sins. If someone gives you a gift, you can sit there and look at it all day, but until you reach out and take it it doesn't become yours. Accepting Jesus is just reaching out and accepting what He has given you. Does that help?

God loves everyone. As long as you are the best that you can be, he will be happy. Even if you are bad, he will love you, he'll be dissapointed, but will still love you. when you look at all of the beautiful flowers, all of the graceful animals, scenic nature, and beauty of this earth, you can truly believe in God. It is us humans that have poisoned this earth. When Jesus says he will love you in return if you love him, it means he will love you if you live a good life, because by living a good life, you show that you accept his teachings of love. All God wants is for everyone to lead a good life.

You are already in hell. God would never place us into a fire to burn eternally as it is written. We are his children and he loves us. If we are not fit to go to"Heaven" with our Creator, then God forbid, we shall be born again to have a chance to improve our life. I wouldn't want to live another life the way this world is being run by man, would you? I truly don't believe there is such a place as hell other than right here on earth. That's why there is so much hatred and corruption going on now.

No, not because you have difficulty believing in Jesus. Christ died so that everyone might have the possibility of Eternal Salvation. Following the prompts of God is necessary however to be lead in the right direction. You may not believe in God , but God is there for you.
