A lot of reasons: Ego, for one thing. They can't stand the notion that we might merely be an intelligent animal, as opposed to something so special that God created the universe for us to walk around in. Fear is another. For whatever reason, their religious faith is built out of an absolutely literal reading of the Bible. The ToE (among many other things, but it's their biggest bugaboo) utterly refutes the notion of a literal seven days, Adam and Eve, Fall of Man, and the rest of Genesis. Such a notion seems to strike at the core of their sense of identity. So they close their eyes and pretend they can't see it or hear it, rationalizing that any evidence agaist their literal and simplistic worldview must be some kind of test of faith they have to pass.
These are people who seem to regard "The Flintstones" as a documentary. Normally they would not be worth worrying about. The problems come up when they try to make everyone else buy into their superstitions.

Because they already have their minds made up that God created humans as we are, and they believe the Genesis account literally. They refuse to see evidence right before their eyes, and refuse to even consider that creation and evolution can go hand in hand, that God uses evolution as a tool. They don't understand that evolution theory only deals with what happened to life AFTER it was created, and does not, and cannot address HOW life began.

The same reason you will not believe in a profound event that impacts your life in such a way you haven't any scientific knowledge but to accept people's words of it as being a "miracle."

First of all that is not evidence of evolution, it is a statement of a fact. And why evolutionists think that every little thing that comes along proves evolution? the answer is because you already believe it to be. That is not research. That is searching for something that you believe happened. A big difference. So chimpanzees have a close relationship with humans genetically and from that you assume evolution happened? Duh?

Because a lot of what we beleive can be disproved by evidence and history, but it's important for us to have something to beleive in, it's important for us to beleive there is a higher power at work in our lives. At least it's important for a lot of people.

This evidence isnt ignored at all, i just believe that God created the Earth and to me it makes a lot more sense, now i ask you, why do evolutionists ignore evidence of creation by a higher being when presented to them?

So let’s see...you are asking me to believe the theory of evolution?
Hmmm... OK let’s look at your question in a little detail shall we?
Everything in nature and the environment is interdependent on each other for survival, from the tiniest life form to the top predator, man. Without this life could not exist, that is a proven fact.
You are asking me to believe in a theory that would require millions upon millions of separate changes to come together to arrive at your theory of evolution. The odds of this happening in a random sequence are incalculable.
Look at the human body and the cells you have, each cell is more complex than a city block in New York City. Do a little research and find out just how complex your DNA really is.
Further more the Bible and the Torah are both based on writings from a civilization that existed over 6000 years ago and this civilization gave us many things that we still use today. It is a part of human history, indeed a part of our planets history that is never taught in schools and a very few people truly understand the implications of their writings.
The first civilization on the planet with written language, government, laws, morals and the story of how and who created our solar system and us. This is scientific fact, not fiction.
You brain is like a parachute, it only works if it is open.
Translations throughout time starting with the Greeks have given many miss interpretations and this has been repeated continuously to the present day.
If we are interdependent on each other and the environment for survival and nature requires balance to work, this implies design, not evolution.
Peace

There is no evidence of evolution. Nobody has ever seen it. Common sense tells you that it is improbable, and known science disproves it (mutations, the supposed engine of evolution is virtually always harmful, it does NOT contribute to survivability.
Why do evolutionists continue to believe it?
