If there was a resource that would allow one to create there own mission: what, where, when, how long and with whom, etc. and have it paid for, would you take advantage of it.

I just want to vouch for JP, Jibby, and MeatBot. These are three very vocal atheists in terms of their religious convictions, but are very humane in understanding the value of a human life; and that is a 'human life' determined by medical standards to be 'living': a beating heart and functioning brain synapses. This develops usually before 10 weeks, after which the fetus feels pain and can distinguish that it is under attack from a foreign object.

I don't ever want to hear anyone categorizing atheists as "soulless monsters" or anything of the sort... they, even more than us believers sometimes, understand the importance of mortal life... especially since believers are prone to believe that it's ok for people to die, because the next life is more important anyway"

Say "I agree" if you agree.

'Enlightenment' is unattainable, overrated, and a distraction from real life and the things that really matter.

Thoughts on this, anyone? I'm looking for some really cynical answers. Sock it to me, people!

This isn't asking if you think we NEED God for morals or not, or if God exists or not, but merely which would you rather be the case - that humans are inherently moral with or without God or that we have to have a supreme being tell us what is moral and what isn't?

Thanks.

I asked this question about an hour ago and Yahoo refused to post it in the R&S section. Hopefully it'll go through this time.

Ok to use, not ok to use, some ok and others not? Morally right, wrong, neutral?

Tell me as much as you want.

Okay, they only use the watchtower.org site, or the watchtower, Awake! or the favorable translated New World translation bible as sources. Whenever you show them some information from another source they say it isn't dependable. How absurd and stupid is this? As if the pedifile cases were totally false. As if the WT headquarters is so organized and actually agree with each other's doctrines. Why do you think things change so often; they don't know what the heck they are talking about. God can't accurately show them what he wants them to do? Come on! Pyramids used to predict Jesus return?

I've had sources from BBC, one of the most widespread sources of information in the WORLD. It produces most of the programs on the PBS program channel many of Discovery Channels programs too. Also Dateline did an investigation, the basic news channels did. The Watchtower itself can be used as a source for the constant ever changing prophcies they have. How can anyone be so blind and ignorant

why?

The God of GODS=The God named within GODS

in times new roman font see the name TOD S within.
sounded out as TODD S.

and unfortunatly for you He put his image on practically every God, like He made them his B***h. Thats pretty much the funniest thing since sliced bread.

also it makes perfect sense since the spirit of Emperor Constatine's bible said all things to glorify Lord God. Meaning that whole languages were invented to glorify the coming Lord God Todd.

God created everything and His word is true. That pretty much gives him the right to say how things should be. Also, since He is soveriegn, He has the right to do what He sees fit and doesn't need our approval, opinion, or understanding.

Why, then, do people automatically assume that God is a jerk? Do they think He shouldn't have that right? Do they not like the thought that they have to live up to a certain standard?

I'm honestly not trying to be a jerk, but I am a little curious why people have a problem with this.

Thanks!

I have a 5 year old female miniature schnauzer that weighs just under 5 lbs. When I brought the cat into the household he started suckling on the dog. He was 6-8 weeks old when I got him, and started nursing on the dog from day one. It was weird and cute at the same time when he was younger, but now he has gotten bigger than the schnauzer. The cat won't stop nursing on the dog no matter how many times I get on to the sickos. I don't want to put the thought into the dog's mind that nursing is bad, in case she has some pups of her own. The schnauzer has not been in heat since the whole thing began around 8 or 9 months ago, and I think she just likes being a mom. I want to breed the schnauzer and haven't found a way to keep the two from going at it. The dog just walks up and puts it in his face. I have thought about getting one of those dog sweaters to cover up her nipples, but I can't help but think that there is something else I can do to "wean" the cat. Please help.

If atheists do disagree it is in a much more civil manner than theists.

Christians agrue and have even killed each other over the Bible verses and interpretations such as Prodestants and Catholics. Shiites and Sunni Muslims are proving my point today as we speak.

My girlfriend made plans to go drinking with her ex boyfriend for this Saturday. They are going with a couple of his friends.

I don't have a lot of relationship experience, but I'm pretty sure it's not considered appropriate to go out drinking with an ex. I could easily stop her from doing anything that would instantly end our relationship by coming along, but I'd almost rather have her screw up now rather than wait until we're married and she's messing around with other guys.

She told me that when she drinks she gets turned on, so I suspect the worst results to happen this Saturday.

What do you think? Should I go along or let some disaster happen now rather than later? Are her actions inappropriate or am I overreacting?

There are so many different kinds of Christians out there. Christianity has four main groups: Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and Protestant. Protestant is often just a blanket term for many groups that don't fit into the other three. Subdivisons inside this include Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, Evangelical, Mormans, Jehovah's Witnesses, Adventists and more. Each one of these groups has a at least one tiny little thing that is different from the others.
So how can you lump all Christians together when there are so many different and diverse groups? For that matter, how can you lump anyone together? It doesn't matter if you use more specific terms: 'All Baptists hate gays.' It's not true, whether you use Christian or Baptist! Each person can think for themselves. Even in my church, people are split over different issues because we are DIFFERENT. We are not all just one huge person. So please respect that before saying we 'all' hate people or do this or that.

OK, as i was reading a post. Another question comes to mind. Or explaination to one.
For those who think Cain married a sibling. i think, i may have found the answer to dis-prove it. Don't get me wrong .I said: MAY HAVE FOUND,not found BUT MAY HAVE!
If we go back to G1 v 26. Where God has gathered. all the sons of God. (for arguments sake OK?)
Now God says to them! "Let us make man in OUR OWN IMAGE." Now consider this .
OUR! And God blesses them and says: "Be fruitful and mulitply." Now time passes. God plants a garden ch2 v 8. Man has already been established.
Now we go back to ch2 v 7. God takes time to form man fro mthe ground. Not as in g1.(it does not say man was formed fro mthe ground.)anyway,
God had planted a garden ,and placed man(Adam) to care for it. Now Cain could not of married his sister, because,
Eve does not exist yet.
Now God has already established, M/F being created. Adam ,is working in the garden. Time passes.
