About a little over a month ago I had a fire in our fireplace. I thought that I had opened the flew, but I had closed it. So our entire apartment filled with smoke. I then opened the flew and all was better.

The next day I looked at the fireplace and there was smoke damage around it. So I tried to clean it off. It would not move. I thought that we would have to paint before we moved so that we would not be charged for the smoke damage.

This past Saturday I was sitting on an ottoman talking to Ali (my husband). I looked over at the fireplace and said to Ali do you see that. Shocked he said yes you have to take a picture. Now I do not care if we are charged I will not paint, can you see what we see? I tried to take the picture using the different settings on my camera that is why there are 4 pics

Here are the Pics http://photos.yahoo.com/ph/lil_lil_lady_bug/slideshow?.dir=/9881re2&.src=ph

And here are a few other places that this has also happened

how come he has a double standard like that? how can u define good and bad as absolutes if one entity can do something and it be called good, while another entity does the same exact thing and it be called bad.

good and bad must be relative then...

why are christians pushing their relative laws on us?

I was in church yesterday and a nun was talking about how she wishes that she could've had children. I was going to suggest adoption, but I wasn't sure if they are allowed to adopt or not.

In this question, someone made that good point. Have atheists ever really thought about this fact?

I was just reading another persons question on what the bible says about people who murder? at lot of the answers say yes god will forgive as long as the murderer says he's sorry to a priest and truely means it, then all is ok and off he/she pops to heaven? I unfortunalty know of a someone who committed murder I prey for him every night in hope he can be forgiven but I cant stop thinking that he took someones life? how can this be so that he will be forgiven for such a horrible act? I only feel for him as he is someone I know and I can honestly say he is sorry for his actions as it was a fight which went too far! but never the less it happened. I dont understand why God would be willing to forgive as to me its just like saying "go out committe an offence but as long as your sorry all is ok? surely this cant be right?

The Buddha feels only compassion for those who remain attached to the world.

How does this compare, morally, with the teachings of Christ?

I asked that earlier and I got a negative response but no answers. I wasn't meaning it to be rude although I don't see why it would be perceived that way. I think it's a legitimate question. Regarding your own beliefs, what would/could you argue about if you don't believe anything except that lack of a god/higher being, of which you all agree on.

I don't have much money at all. The least expensive way to go with this situation would be to have a cremation for my Mother in law. I want a priest to officiate at her memorial service, but I am not sure if it would be ok in the eyes of the church. I made many phone calls to churches, but no body calls back.

At birth, the unregenerate infant is considered not accountable for their sins, therefore gets a free pass to heaven. Once the age of reason is reached, man is now in a neutral state of choice for God or rejection of him. At death, God turns his wrath upon him for eternity. He went from saved to neutral to damned in his lifetime, why the entire spectrum?

Read your bible and then anwer then question. God demands that homosexuals be put to death, that rapist have to marry their victims, and that if a man hits his slave and she doesn't die, it is okay.

... how satan has pimped out this world.

It's unbelievable that people will constantly blame God, like little kids caught playing in the mud trying to justify their own filth. "God did this", "God did that"... or rather "God didn't stop me when I leaped into this dirt so it's his fault" or "God didn't catch me when I jumped so he doesn't exist."
That's exactly how it sounds. Kids get themselves introuble for their decisions, then blame God. What happened to responsibility? MAN has it all, so he'll do it all thinking "If I get caught, I'll just blame God."

These are thoughts of the ignorant that will not go unchecked.
"I didn't know" will not be an acceptable answer.

Satan will have you looking at everyone except yourself (ref. Adam and Eve's excuses). Blessings for obedience, like punishment for disobedience, should be expected. MAN has the choice to 'not' follow Satan, who is still ticked off cause he lost the fight to God.

Are you losing your battles in life?

I was wondering if Evolution is something that rather than making any sense or having any evidence, it is a belief that put a person in a position of acceptance.

Not believing in Evolution might make a person feel ignorant or dumb, or unintelligent.

Do most students believe in Evolution just to be accepted by their colleges?

I am sick and tired of getting screwed over by born again Christians on their death bed. Why do those knuckle heads have to change their mind on the death bed? They know the lights are starting to flicker out and their minds are not right anyway, why do they have to stab the rest of us in the back when they are dying? They should have enough information to show that there is no possible way that religion anything more than a fairy tale. Why do they keep doing it? All of a sudden atheist get tired of telling the truth, and have to succumb to all the lies of christianity?

Christians can point to all of creation as a reason why we believe that creation has to have a Creator, and laws of nature require a Law maker.

If there were not a Creator who has no beginning and no end and is all powerful and omnipresent, then who created us?

that murderers will or will not be forgiven? What if it was murder in anger of the moment? For ex., if the person was to hurt the other person in anger and annoyance and they were trying to kill the person since they were so caught up in thier anger but regretted it afterwards when they were in their normal temper again?

Just wondering what will happen to peole like jeffrey dhamer?

And I'd like what it says in the Bible or any other religious book not what you think.

I believe u guys r on the right track, but ur off a little bit.

In my personal opinion, Muhammad pretty much thought about who the real God(s) was. He then picked THE God, the god of the jews and the christians.
but then he picked out the parts of the Bible he didn't agree with, and made a new bible (the Qoran) that showed what he DID believe out of the Bible, and some other stuff that he made up)
Face it, Jesus was here before him.
And, why would it be so bad to paint a picture of one of God (Allah)'s creations? If I drew a picture of a cat, would I go to Hell?

I'm sorry, but i want to know how u turn this statement around.

I'd like to hear some answers from some self-professed spiritual cynics. I've pretty much regarded myself as a spiritual person all my life, but am beginning to become rather cynical towards it. I'd like to hear some smart, cynical responses regarding spirituality.
The reason I want to hear from you is because I want some intellectual stimulation from intelligent people who aren't a) convinced Christ is going to rise again and save them or b) floating in an ocean of New Age mumbo jumbo guru-speak.
I'm pretty much fed up with just about any intangible theories and pseudo-mystical ideas right now, as I am deeply frustrated with them at the moment. So if anyone has some kind of intellectual, practical, GROUNDED take on spirituality, please, I want to hear your thoughts.

And I quote,

"Is that what life is about... science? Are these scientists pioneers in their "noble" pursuit in explaining how things work? Do we really care how many stars are in the sky?... Do we really care about going to the moon? Do we really care what proteins living things are made up of? Boy, now that we know all of this, our lives are so much more fulfilling than our ancestors lives must have been who didn't have this knowledge, right? They must have been so miserable not knowing all of these facts and data that scientists consume their entire lives chasing after. What a pathetic existence. You call that a purpose... scientists might as well be our gods I suppose, right? Talk about lost people... never knew of a scientist who consumed their life with loving people."
